What a shame We've booked craxton multiple times for anniversaries in the past, however, it really seems to have gone down hill. The hotel is nice enough despite our iron being broken and the bath/shower leaking covering the whole bathroom floor, but the spa was a real dive. Despite them closing the cafe at 4 (you'll need to leave, cross the car park and enter the hotel of you want a snack or anything other than a water), the place was filled with used cups and people left overs. I was in the garden rooms well over an hour and a half after the cafe had closed and as you can see from the pictures, there wasn't even anywhere to put my book or my cup of water. There is only one drink station in the whole place until 8pm. The rest of the place wasn't much different to the garden room. We asked throughout the day if they can could top up the infused water but they didn't which again was a shame. On the evening the lady paying before us hadn't even received her dinner and was asking for a refund and we had had items missed from our orders. I don't like to complain, but when you are paying upwards of £60 for steak, onion rings and a glass of wine, you at least expect to get them all. If you're looking to book a relaxing break, perhaps pay a little more and go to Manor House in Cheshire or at least somewhere where you can get a cupnof coffee after your treatment. I very rarely complain but would hate for someone to have the same experience, and given how much went wrong, I doubt we won the lottery on bad luck, it's very likely people's common experience.

Disappointing Booked for our 10 year wedding anniversary as a treat and honestly was really disappointed. Booked the suite, 1st night the heating wasn't working, no staff available to fix it so offered an extra duvet. Then this got fixed and the 2nd night there was no hot water! Hotel rooms need some desperate maintenance, in the suite there was a visible crack in the window the radiator was leaking and only one of the smart TVs was able to connect to the Internet The 2nd morning was the one time I had seen the restaurant busy, only one member of staff on, who through no fault of her own forgot about us so we had to remind her to come and take our order after a 30 minute wait Overall very disappointed and I wouldn't recommend

18th birthday treat ruined I decided to treat my daughter to a spa break for her 18th birthday. Spa felt grubby, alot of mould on sealing in places. As most reviews for this place dated and not particularly clean. Very nice staff its one saving grace. I ordered room service, it tasted wierd, my daughter couldn't eat it, so took it back to reception to complain. I spent the night vomiting and diarrhea. As a result I was not able to eat breakfast the next morning or visit the spa out of courtesy to other users. It ruined my daughters birthday plans as I was so ill and tired I had to go home. I emailed the company and the initial response was very apologetic, they assured me they would look into it and get back to me, I had to phone to ask what was being done about it, they offered a £15 voucher and more importantly no explanation. Still waiting.

Disappointed Where do I start? We went to Craxton Wood Park for a spa day. We were given wet robes, which was frustrating as we had to go back to the reception to get a replacement. However, the facial was lovely! After the spa, we went to have a coffee n a bite to eat but there was a sign up on the counter ‘closed’ The staff was making drinks for her colleagues and ignored me as I waited at the counter, so I asked her, when will they open up again. The same young lady replied 10 minutes, okay?! Her manner was not a positive one, I got the impression she did not like me asking. We waited patiently, finally opened back up, a different polite young lady came back from her break and served me with a warm welcome. I ordered a coffee and a cheese n onion panini. The panini was served with crisps and coleslaw. It looked pale but I was hungry after using the leisure facilities. Not only was it pale, it was absolutely soggy! I am guessing that it was heated up in the microwave and definitely not grilled. Very disappointing and certainly not worth waiting for. Sadly, we will not be returning.
