Nice room, but unpleasant surprise. Nice room, friendly staff. But BEWARE! Despite there being ample parking, a $5 per day parking fee is levied. This was a surprise as it was not mentioned in the hotel details. Won't stay here again. Also, this review requires 200 characters! In the interest of brevity, I attempted to state our thoughts with only 163!

Musty smell! Beware, the rooms smell musty and moldy; had a three night reservation, only stayed one night as I was experiencing a sore throat, cough, sinus congestion and irritated eyes after spending one night there. Symptoms resolved after leaving the hotel.

Looks can be deceiving! From first appearance this hotel appears very fresh and new but there is a secret lurking, MOLD! Run at all cost. Our first room 212 was reaking of mold. It was hard to breath, we didn’t stay in the room longer than 10 minutes and my eyes begin itching and nose running , the walls and carpet felt moist, my 10 year old said the bed feels wet. As someone who is very familiar with construction and remodeling, I begin looking for signs and bingo coming from the fire water outlet was creeping black mold, I lifted the picture and bingo more mold, looked around the smoke detector, and more mold, I immediately got my children out of this room we head down to request a new room, we got a new room 234, it was milder but it still had the same wet, moldy, mildew smell. My children have allergies as well and there was no way we could stay here without them getting sick, we left . I have stayed at many Hampton Inns, this was by far the worst! There is definitely water damage, the roof or a leaking pipe. Or it was not probably dehumidified after a water event, but it is wet somewhere and I think the owner is definitely aware and covering it up. Message to owner : get an inspection to at minimum protect the employees working and breathing in those spores daily. Secondly as business owner take accountability and have integrity about your business, it not worth the health risk and potentially facing law suits, there is a time when you just need to let it go and start over. You would make so much more revenue if you did.

Rooms smellled damp and musty Hotel was empty even though several others around it were full, that should have been our first clue. The woman working the front desk was not friendly. Charged $5 to park in an empty parking lot. The worst part was that the room smelled horribly musty and damp. Bed and bed sheet felt damp. It was late and we were only staying one night or we would have left.

Caveat emptor Bugs... Ants... Infestation of both… Avoid at all costs! In addition, hotel is old and not maintained – mold growing around the bathtub enclosure, yet most expensive in the area and management refuses to void bogus “parking fee”.. Wait, WHAT? PARKING FEE? This hotel is off-the-beaten-path, and a beaten-down hotel next to a very active construction zone, so charging for parking is just a hotel management to gouge customers for more money. "Caveat emptor" - Don’t stay here, don't do it!
