Good overnight during a road trip! Days Inn Childress located right on 287 across from the Pilot Travel Center. Hotel seems to be remodeled with clean and comfortable rooms. Shower was fantastic with very strong water pressure. Morning breakfast had large Texas waffles. Indoor pool was open and people were enjoying it. Good value for 1 night stay during a road trip.

A very noisy hotel This is a clean and comfortable hotel. It’s been recently updated with new floors, furniture, etc. However, the sound insulation in the building is terrible. We could hear everything going on in the next room and the hallway. At 6:30 am, it sounded like there was a major family reunion going on in the hallway. No need for an alarm clock! Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was minimal but OK. I’d pass on this one on my next trip.

Usually good but avoid room 101. I had called a week in advance, requested room 118 or at least one on that side and downstairs. Did online check in and requested the same. When we arrived, the only room available was room 101 on the highway side. Very noisy. The rooms are always clean but the extra lock on the door was broken off the wall, the lock on the bathroom door was half broken, looks like the bathroom must have flooded at one point. I plugged my phone and watch into the outlet next to the usb ports and neither charged so it must not work. Had to unplug the clock radio because no matter what I did it would start making a static noise about every 10 minutes. Thought it was an alarm but the alarm was turned off. I will continue to stay there because I usually have a better experience but I will request NOT to be in room 101.

Probably the worst experience I've ever had; awful owner and more Probably the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. And I've never had to write a review like this. and it's a long one. I would give zero for the overall experience. I had been traveling for about 10 days and was on my last leg home. When I came into the hotel lobby, the entire area was smelling intensely of cleaner/disinfectant. Some may like that it was "clean," but for scent-sensitive people, it was overwhelming. When I got to my room that faced the road/parking lot, the smell was still strong in my room and I went out to talk to front desk woman, who said she didn't even notice it. Meanwhile, I watched that desk person accept a very young dog for a room, because the traveler said it was a service dog. Service dogs are never young, never carried in someone's arms and then fawned over by staff. Room notes: I got back to my room to realize how awfully loud the front rooms were from truckers, as others have mentioned in their reviews. I asked for a different room in back, but told nothing was available. Other notes: it's the type of room where all the lights are overhead and have daylight bulbs in them, making lighting uncontrollable and not at all soothing. The darkening blind was an up/down, strange material shade and it appeared that the up/down semi-sheer shade underneath it would not have provided any privacy, so it was all or nothing, for shades. But the worst of everything came in the morning. I had a decent breakfast in the breakfast area, chatting with front desk staff, then went in to take a shower. I realized that the shower had a fixed pane glass, the shower head was high and unreachable, and the water flow was not controllable. So I turned it on for the water to warm up. I never made it to the shower. Water had splashed onto to the tile floor and even with a bathmat down, I, for the first time in my life, did a millisecond banana-peel fall. I was so lucky to have angled between the door jams, else I would have hit my head on the door and god knows what then. I was pretty sure I hadn't hit my head, but I already had significant neck and shoulder pain with a prominent headache. I'll try to shorten the rest of this, but EMS was called and since I knew I hadn't hit my head and felt decently confident I had no fractures (I have been an allied medical professional for 28 years), I declined to go to the local little hospital in little Childress but knew I would see a doctor at home, because soft tissue damage takes a while to show up. Pictures were taken, reports made and I was given the owner's contact info, but was told their insurance company would call me by the next Monday. Monday came and went. I called the owner and he was awful. He basically accused me of lying, that nothing happened, the shower was dry and I only wanted to get a room comp out of him. That I should have gone to the local hospital (not discussed as part of insurance contacting me). I wasn't going to argue with a man who didn't know anything about medical, especially when he had already called me a liar. I reached out to Wyndham customer care to no avail, because all hotels are independently owned. The Days Inn owner had absolutely no care or concern about my well-being. Lawyers I spoke with, said that in Texas, I didn't have recourse. I've attached the photos I had to take, even before EMS came, to show how water splashed outside the stall, and everything left as it was found, after I landed and then got up. Spent a week with headaches and back pain and an awful memory of mistreatment by the owner of the Days Inn, Childress, TX, Kiran Bhakta

Great, perfect for our need. Overall everything was very pleasant. Clean, nice staff, very accommodating, very friendly, good breakfast. For just an overnight stay it was perfect. We were able to get settled and go out to the pool and hot tub for very relaxing evening. Quiet, perfect to get a good night sleep.
