Holiday Inn Express & Suites Clear Spring by IHG

NOT handicapped friendly Holiday Inns for the most part are not handicapped-friendly. They do not guarantee a handicap-accessible room at the time of a reservation. When you check-in they may or may not have a handicapped room. This specific location does not even know what a handicapped accessible room is. I called in the morning prior to check-in to ensure a room would be available and was told it would be. When we arrived we were put in a hearing-impaired room. No grab bars for the toilet. When questioned they insisted it was a handicapped accessible room because their system said it was. After much discussion and the round around they told me they may have an acceptable room. It also was a hearing impaired room. The manager asked me how I knew that. I pointed to the doorbell and the symbol on the door. I then pushed the doorbell and the loud noise it makes for the hearing impaired scared the manager out of her shoes. She reply I did not know about that. I also told them it is obvious you do not even know the definition or requirements for a handicapped room. The hotel itself is ok and a typical HIE, it is just the ignorance of HIE management about handicapped / wheelchair assistance that is unbearable.

A Good Value This is a nice hotel with friendly staff and serving a good hot breakfast again as of May. The only issues were that when the toilet in the adjacent room was flushed, it sounded as though a rocket was taking off, and there are few places to eat nearby. The very affordable room rate made for a very good value for an overnight stay prior to our visit of nearby Antietam National Battlefield Park the next morning.

Nice place to stay. Was very pleased with this hotel. Price was very reasonable and the room very clean. Water pressure was not the best, nut the shower was good. Room was very nice. Breakfast was normal fare and actually pretty good. There is a lack of eating establishments close so plan accordingly.

Great option for trips to Whitetail Ski Resort Stayed at this property with my family for a group ski trip. The property appeared fairly new, the rooms were clean and modern, and the staff were friendly in our fairly minimal interactions with them. The hotel is conveniently located for trips to the nearby Whitetail ski resort.

Weekly stays I stayed here three days a week for seven weeks. The hotel and its staff are wonderful. The rooms are spotless, the free breakfast is delicious, and the staff is kind, courteous and helpful. Amanda is doing a phenomenal job as manager. Highly recommend this hotel!
