Great! We stayed here for a soccer tournament and our experience was great. I liked checking in through the app. It was an absolute breeze. I don't know if Ivan is real or AI but they checked in on us throughout the stay, which was nice especially for a mid-tier hotel. We stayed in room 402 and had a distant skyline view as well as a view of the airport which was fun to watch the planes. The room was fine - standard - and we appreciated that the hotel was pet friendly. The breakfast area was open at 6 which was so nice when we had early games. The outdoor pool wasn't open but apparently there's a secret indoor pool as well that we didn't know about. We did everything on the app, so we never actually stopped at the front desk. When we checked out via the app, we noticed there was a discrepancy on the bill. I chatted with Ivan on the app and they took care of it right away. It was so convenient and easy.

Old and a bit behind but relatively clean If there’s one thing I think of for Hampton Inns, it’s consistency. For the most part if you’ve stayed at one, you’ve stayed at all. That’s not untrue here, however this one is showing some wear and tear. Being an airport hotel I know they tend to be more in flux with rooms. We booked two rooms and the second one wasn’t available until about 7pm. The staff was very nice about it but still not exactly fun while traveling with kids. The room was fine and seemed pretty clean. Our shower had a pretty good crack in the corner and the ceiling and shower head had some mildew. They switched to the refillable bottles for shampoo and soap which is great… but these ones aren’t locked so that’s a little weird. I just don’t trust people lol. Our toilet would kick on and run about every 15 minutes. I didn’t report it until the next morning because it wasn’t actively bothering us (first floor so low risk for damage to anything). The carpet in the hall is puckered which tells me it’s old and has been cleaned many times. The lobby was pretty standard. Parking is plentiful which is surprising at this location.

Ants in the room Well my expectations weren’t high to begin with but during my one night stay at this location, I saw ants crawling on the bathroom floor. At first I thought it was a wayward fruit fly but then I saw another and another and another. The hotel texts you upon checking in to ask how the room is. I responded back to this text upon seeing the ants later on that night and… no response. Not sure if “Fred” left for the evening and no one else knows how to use the text messaging function or if it was just autogenerated and they didn’t expect anyone to text back. Finally end up calling front desk. The stars is for the front desk agent who quickly found another room for me for the night on the same floor and met me at the door to the new room shortly after. New room is more updated and thankfully no insects. Thanks to the front desk agent that evening that responded quickly. The rooms on one side of the hotel faces the airport runway and contrary to other reviewers, you can hear the planes but it is not too loud and generally ok to sleep through. The Columbus airport is also not that busy so planes use that runway about every 20 mins or so. Breakfast is standard Hilton fare.

Terrible hotel experience, look elsewhere This was a terrible hotel experience. We arrived and were given room keys promptly, however the door was broken and difficult to open and close. After entering, we saw we had been given two queen beds instead of the king we paid for. One of the two beds was not made, the shower was dirty and there was only one towel. The desk told us even though we reserved a king bed, they had none available and gave us the queen bed while still charging for a king, which they would not change. Rooms were switched to another queen bed after complaining about the state of the room to the desk and although the new room appeared to have been cleaned, it was not well kept, as the carpet was old and nasty and the air was not on in the room so it was very hot while the ac got going about a half hour after we turned it on

Loud noise all night long There was a long line at check in due to a flight cancellation. No problem, it couldn‘t be helped that we had to wait about 30 minutes to check in. The room was clean but freezing. Neither the temperature controls on the wall nor on the air con unit worked, so we unplugged it, problem solved. The real problem was noise. In Room 217 a mechanical noise with bzzing continued throughout the night, making it difficult (nearly impossible) to sleep. This should be the primary aim of a hotel, providing a peaceful night‘s sleep, and we were sorely disappointed. I would not stay here again.
