Quality Inn Coralville - Iowa River Landing

Front Desk Staff Assaulted Me--DO NOT STAY HERE! I have stayed here a little over a month, as I've been working at the University on a contract. The staff here are horrendous. Just to give a couple examples: 1. The staff were never able to tell me how much I owed each week. Every time I would speak with someone at the front desk, they would give me a different dollar amount. The only one who knew what they were doing was Scott, the assistant general manager. He was the only one I was able to trust. 2. The key card to unlock the room NEVER WORKED! Almost every day, I would have to make multiple trips down to the front desk (which by the way, there is no elevator at this property) to have them fix it. And each time I would go down the staff never believed there was anything wrong, and insisted I was not using the key card correctly. 3. This morning, lo and behold, my key card didn't work. I called down to the front desk to please come up and fix the lock and that I couldn't go downstairs because I was carrying my laundry. The front desk person came SPRINTING up the stairs, and as he passed me in the hallway, he THREW the key card at my face!!! If it hadn't happened to me, I never would have thought somehting like this could actually happen. The so-called "owner" of the property also threatened to kick me out of my room after I asked him to please show me a hard copy of my bill (as of course, no one could tell me for sure what my balance due was). There are many other hotels in the area that are much safer, much more updated, and where hopefully you won't have to worry about being assaulted by the staff.

We could have spent more, but liked the quiet and cleanliness of the place The Quality Inn in Coralville is right in the midst of lots of motels and restaurants due I think to the fact that the Extreme arena is there. It is home to a professional ice hockey team, a professional volleyball team and lots of other events take place there. The motel seems to be quite modest, but it was very clean and had a very nice breakfast. We could have spent more money but as it was, we enjoyed the cleanliness and the quiet. My only recommendation would be that they slowly fix the small things like leaking bath tub faucet, a broken bathroom sink drain, but, it was super clean and the manager was very nice and helpful.

Great place This hotel had one of the friendliest staff we've encountered in 3 weeks of travel. The hotel is being remodeled and improved. Our room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a large shower (no tub) with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We could not figure out the TV so asked the front desk for help...the clerk came to the room and helped us figure it out. Breakfast was standard, but the service from the clerk made it seem above the standard hotel breakfast fare.

Very disappointing!!! We had a suite and were very disappointed. The bathroom was so small that you could not stand between the vanity and toilet. The bathroom was dirty. I was grossed out by all the long black hair on the shower walls and floor. The TV had to be reset for a different input. We had no help from the front desk after waiting over one hour. The breakfast was disappointing also. No fruit or hot chocolate. Coffee and hot water were not hot most mornings. This hotel was very worn and the elevator was out of order. No fitness center. We would not recommend staying here. In fact, we will probably not stay at a Choice Hotels group hotel anytime in the future.

Great Budget Hotel…and I’m picky. This is a very clean and updated hotel in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. The pool was nice and the hot breakfast was really good with eggs, sausages, waffles, fruit, cereal, oatmeal and English muffins. This was a great stay and I highly recommend it for anyone on a budget!
