A Nice Relaxing Getaway Nice place to getaway with the family. Options to do all-inclusive or ala carte option is great as the small kitchen if you choose to cook for yourselves. We decided to do a mix of a few days all-inclusive, eating out and cooking breakfast. Restaurant Lucy (not to be mistaken by Restaurant Lucys by the port) is about a 10-15 minute walk away and had great breakfast/lunch options. This restaurant is highly recommended if you choose to eat out early because it closes at 4:30pm. The hotel is a 15 minute taxi ride from El Centro which would cost about 200 pesos if you choose to eat outside of the hotel in the evening. The local restaurants to the hotel close around 4:30ish because they open mostly during the time the cruise lines are in port. The room had a great view of the ocean, pool and cruise ships. Room had comfortable beds and had controllable A/C. Unfortunately, the TV didn't have all the channels as in the lobby which meant we couldn't watch Paris Olympics events in our room. Without a doubt, what made our time on the resort very enjoyable and entertaining was Roger, the activities coordinator. He went out of his way to make sure the guests were having fun with various activities. His energy and love for what he does is infectious and made us want to always participate whether it was pool volleyball, beach volleyball, ping pong, cornhole, water polo, karaoke etc. The list can go on and on. The bike tour he did for us was probably the most memorable. We got to visit some spots in the area that we would never had seen if not for his knowledge and guidance. Thank you Roger for the wonderful experience we had during our stay in Cozumel. Five stars for Roger!!

Relaxing anniversary getaway trip in Cozumel First time in Cozumel and had a relaxing stay at El Cid. We knew it was a smaller and more outdated resort from the reviews we read beforehand, and at first we were worried that we would not like it as much since we are used to the bigger resorts, but by the end of our trip, we found that we actually really enjoyed the quieter atmosphere. It felt like a private beach home since it was usually not crowded, but it was also never empty, just the right amount of people to make it enjoyable and peaceful at the same time :) All the staff were super friendly, but there were two staff members who really stood out to us. Saul Moreno was our contact person and helped us a lot even before we arrived, as I had many questions from the moment I booked the trip. He was incredibly helpful from behind the scenes but when we finally met him, he was so sweet and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed! So grateful for his kindness! The other person was Roger, who was in charge of the entertainment/activities. Omg this guy made our trip! He was hilarious and could turn a simple activity like bingo into a great time! Every time he spoke into the mic, my boyfriend and I were laughing so hard. His witty comments and one liners were so effortless, we never had a dull time with him around. FYI we did not do the all inclusive package. We paid as we ordered with prices comparable to back home, but because it was intended to just be a relaxing getaway for the boyfriend and I, we weren’t planning on drinking or eating excessively so it worked out for us. The resort was close to the tourist hub for the cruises, so we walked off the resort every day and felt safe! I also enjoyed the snorkelling there, simple and convenient to just jump into the water right at the property and not have to go far on an excursion to see the exciting marine life! Thank you to Roger for guiding me in the water as I can’t swim and had to hold onto his rope the whole time _

NICE VACATION My family and I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, with a very functional kitchen if you want to prepare something light and you are not paying the all-inclusive price, but also the food in the restaurants was very delicious and the service was very good. The location of the hotel is very convenient, plus the view is beautiful and having the cruise ships parked nearby gives a lot of joy to the place. I would especially like to mention Mr. Saul Moreno, who very kindly helped us with some unforeseen situations on our trip, and made it unforgettable. I definitely recommend El Cid la Ceiba Beach Hotel for a wonderful vacation in Cozumel.
