Blackwell Grange Hotel

Disappointing stay Booked step into March package for our wedding anniversary. Advertised as a relaxing stay anything but relaxing. Stayed in an executive room which was clean and a good size dated but to be expected due to the age of the building. The bathroom was modern and clean with a good shower (no bath). The music in the foyer maybe that is being played can be heard in the room I presume it must be above reception. Starts at 7 am, also a nice early wake up call at 4am with the water in the pipes screeching for 40 minutes. On arrival the tea and cake was really nice, however the food served to is in our room was questionable we ordered parmos which was part of the package with a side of chips ( all side were extra payment). It was horrendous served in cardboard boxes the parmo was dry and disgusting and the chips were frozen chips really disappointed with the food. I think the package would have been better serving the food in the restaurant as the food in the room experience is a no go for me. The breakfast was great and a great service lots of choice. We went to the bar for a few drinks the hotel is really understaffed no bar staff have to wait to be served. This is also noticeable by the attitudes of the staff some were rushed off their feet whilst others just stood chatting with not a care in the world. We witnessed one man knocking on the kitchen door requiring service as the staff were chatting amongst them selves and just ignored him. Overall the room was clean and tidy. Great breakfast. Poor sleep. Poor service. Poor food (did not eat in the restaurant this may have been different) Would I recommend - no not from the experience.

Amazing venue, great cost and good location We are a team that were working on the nearby Blackwell Grange Golf Club. The rooms were incredibly clean and very quiet. It is amazingly good for money, for both the stay and the restaurant. It's located a short distance from the town, which was very handy when we needed to pop out and pick up some bits. The decor was stunningly unique and was very cozy as soon as you walked through the door. Also, the gym and spa facilities attached to the back of the hotel were of very high quality and had everything to offer that we needed. We will DEFINITELY be staying here again!! Not a peaceful weekend while the hotel itself was lovely, the customer service, the noise and the lack of respect from staff really ruined our stay. The spa was a bit disappointing as we were advised children couldn’t go in between certain hours however children were in before these hours. I’ve tried the email the general manager three times to reflect my thoughts however despite my initial complaint partly regarding customer service levels I have not received a response. there was a large group of children who I believe was I was running team running up and down the corridors and knocking on doors until late at night with me. Our parents or staff members monitoring this as a post surgery recovery night away it wasn’t relaxing like we had planned.

Fab hotel, lovely staff. Wine and dine deal food poor Beautiful hotel, lovely staff. Lovely grounds. Bedrooms comfortable and lovely decor. Spa getting renovated but can still use it but looks like its going to get amazing when done. Only negative was the food. Got the wine and dine, good value but with this deal menu very limited and when it came really dissapointed. Very basic, lacked taste and I basically could have cooked much better at home. Really think this need looking into as otherwise loved our stay
