Lesson learned, will be going back to Hyatt from now on whenever we visit Davis Almost gave us keys to an occupied unit because they had assigned the room we booked (cottage w kitchen) to someone else in error. It would have been horrible if we had walked in on this person. Although we were able to switch the next day, it was inconvenient and disrupted our schedule. The lady who did the mixup, Eternalla, I believe, told my party that we would be given a "huge" discount as a result, but this did not happen. They basically lowered our rate to reflect the lower cottage w no kitchen that we stayed at for the first night. In addition, the shower head ar our 2nd unit was so dirty, I had to clean it myself just so we could take a shower. I wanted to like this place, but this experience was enough to drive us back to Hyatt. Will never stay or recommend this place.

Such a wonderful experience in Davis, CA This was a fantastic experience. My partner was visiting Davis for the weekend. I am usually the one commuting to LA. I had booked one of the cottages. It was the first time I was trying this hotel. The past few times, we had stayed at other hotels in town. I booked the cottage since it had a stove in case we wanted to cook one of the two evenings. Just at check-in, I felt good about how we were greeted. Eric at the front desk was very nice and super friendly. The cottage was perfectly spacious for a weekend gateway. My partner's flight got canceled on Sunday, and booking another night was effortless since the hotel was not full that night. Every single employee working there was at all times very nice and helpful. We had an example of how customer service can be so good during the weekend to make you want to come back. All that to say the room, the service, every single employee, and the experience were great. This will be the place we book for our next gateway in Davis.

We'll be back! Just had great 3 day stay in a king cottage at the Aggie Inn while in Davis to visit family. We always book a cottage because it's nice having the extra space - especially for 3 adults, and a bedroom that is separated by French doors from the living area. The rooms have a microwave, kuerig coffee maker and refrigerator, two TVs and a queen size foldout couch in the living area. Plus, the bedroom and living area each have their own climate control thermostats. The bathrooms are modern with the sink and large vanity separate from the toilet and shower. We've tried other hotels and even VRBOs in Davis, but the Aggie is by far our favorite. Pretty much all of downtown is within walking distance and there is direct access to the UC Davis Arboretum Trail right across the street, which I highly recommend. Tips: The French doors in our cottage had sheer curtains covering the glass (not sure if they all do), so I always bring a sheet to hang over the doors as light from the night owl on the foldout couch tends to keep me awake. I also bring a sleeping bag or heavy blanket (I'm sure you could get extra blankets from the staff) to lay on the foldout mattress which makes it more comfortable. I've yet to encounter a foldout in any hotel that was truly comfortable; that's just how they are. The kitchenette cottage while very nice, especially if you want to save money by preparing your own food, has an older style bathroom as opposed to the mini fridge cottages which have more modern bathrooms with a large vanity and sink separate from the shower and toilet. Honestly you can't go wrong with either.

Poor management, fraudulent charges Basic midline hotel. My girlfriend and I left the property in the morning to smoke, came back, packed and left. My card was charged 250$ for the lingering smell our clothes left. I was unable to contact management through the hotel and had to contact corporate for the managers email address. I've stayed at hundreds of hotels around the country, this has never happened to me before. Part of me believes this is a scam. Don't support this place.

Lovely cottage but front desk a tad disorganized The front desk was not able to process my credit card and had our reservation a bit mixed up. Eventually the person called an off-site manager who was able to override the system and they then checked us in and were very apologetic. Be careful with choosing a cottage. Two of them faced a fairly busy street. The one they reserved for us faced that street, but we luckily were able to switch ours, but only to one that was more expensive. The cottage was comfortable as well as quiet.
