Worth the price Excellent stay. Very clean and well kept up with. Comfortable beds and bedding. The two double room had more than enough room with a nice size table to eat at with comfortable chairs. Full breakfast in the morning with great tasting coffee. The employees are professional and hard working.

First Visit I liked the location of the hotel so thought I would try it. What I forgot about is there are no restaurants open late of Easter Sunday (my mistake). But, after returning my granddaughter to Madison, I was hungry. The reason I mention this is because the staff at Holiday Inn Deforest, is REALLY very accommadating. The gal at the front desk came up with an apple to tide me over. I was down right away in the morning for breakfast. It was very good and the gentleman in charge couldn't have been any one personable. In addition, management was there in the morning and on top of things. Honestly, their staff is their STRENGH...congrats. I had a nice stay.

Poor Experience Our stay at this hotel was very poor. I am going to start off with the positives first, though. These are the reasons the hotel got 2 stars instead of 1. -The continental breakfast was very good, except the pancake maker kept breaking and had to be fixed. -There are a lot of great restaurants right by the hotel. Now, the negatives. It was me and my 3 kids staying at this hotel for my daughters softball tournament, and I had booked a room with 2 queen beds. We got checked in the hotel and headed up to our room. The moment we got into the elevator it smelled of weed. When we get to our room, we saw a king bed and a pull-out couch. The room also smelled of smoke. We went back down to the lobby to let them know that we had gotten the wrong room type. They told us that they had “upgraded” us to a sweet because the room type that I had originally booked was sold out. But that was not an upgrade for me, because now 2 of my kids are going to have to share the pull-out couch, which is a full size bed. (The front desk worker tried to convince me that it was a queen size, but it wasn’t) The front desk worker first tried to offer me $20 dollars off per night for me stay, but that was not enough for what I had been paying. He told me that the manager would talk to me the next day, and I got nothing. I went back to the front desk letting them know that, and then they told me that the manager doesn’t answer until business days. On Monday, the manager still never got back to us, so my husband called and we finally got a 1 night off discount. The pool was just ok. We went over to the Comfort Inn and Suites just down the street to swim with some of the teammates of my daughter, and the pool was much bigger and nicer. The lobby was also bigger there. I really wished i would’ve just stayed there.

They rent out their pool to locals. Breakfast is bland Sisco eggs, greesy bacon. Big problem is the pool is full of locals who pay a monthly fee and fill the pool and hottub with their screaming unruly kids. Kids jumping, running, throwing stuff, in pool and being unruly in hot tub. Also lots of tiny ants crawling around the side of the hot tub. Avoid this place.
