A Surprising Pleasant Stay on the Beach My opinion of the Fairfield Beach Inn was unfairly tainted by its location next to The Seagrape, a popular pub for young adults and Fairfield University students. I took rooms for two nights when my apartment nearby needed repairs requiring me to stay away. The first night, because I had a mobility handicap, I stayed in Room 1 on the ground level right next to the hotel office — and right next to the Seagrape. I could not have been more pleased! The room was beachy in decor, so pleasant and clean. I had a bit of a problem with the door leading to the attached private patio, but overall this was a surprising nice room with little if any noise issue from the Seagrape. The second night, I was moved to a room on the second level. Hotel staff cheerfully helped me move my belongings up the stairs to that room. The second room was even sweeter! I enjoyed the kitchettes in each room. The bedding was excellent. I never went to the beach — but I have been on Penfield Beach often and it is a fine beach. Be aware if you stay here that you are close to the beaches, but not much else (except The Seagrape). Fairfield Center with dining and shopping is a five-minute drive away.

Nice beach hotel near Fairfield beach. The hotel looks like a beach house and it has an excellent location near a private beach, which is very good. The front desk is open till 5pm, so there is no late check in. Also, this Inn has a parking for guests right in the yard. Rooms are simple but efficient.

In town on business The inn is in a nice location. Other than that, I do not get all of the positive reviews. It is a motel! Upon arrival, we tried to get in the front door and a woman stuck her head out of a window and asked out last name, she gave us the key and said to head upstairs. So impersonal and unfriendly. The room was adequate at best. OJ and muffins were in the fridge for breakfast the next day. I wish I stayed at the Hampton Inn for much less!

Noisy!!!! The room was nice. Check in was easy. Beds were comfortable. Coffee, juice and muffins in room as well as plenty of toiletries were provided. However-we booked the sandpiper room and be advised this room is adjacent to a bar that was still blaring loud music past 11pm on a Thursday night and it is right next to a very heavily accessed teenage public beach access. Bring your ear plugs because it was over the top noisy

Loud and terrible. Terrible location, right next to a super loud disco. Other guests also loud and obnoxious. “Continentall” breakfast - a muffin and a bottle of orange juice - was a joke. Front desk was not helpful. Overall, a terrible experience. Wouldn’t stay here again.
