Hampton Inn and Suites Amelia Island Historic Harbor Front

Hampton Inn on 2nd St: Excellent location for the "Dickens on Centre' event We had reservations here for the "Dickens on Centre Street" event this year. It is located right in the heart of all the festivities. The suite we had was very well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast area was very roomy which was a great thing! Most of the times, this area in other Hampton Inns is so crowded and no place to sit. The breakfast choices were the same fare most hotels offer, but it was fresh and well stocked. Our only complaint....they were working on the building and the equipment was blocking most of the parking area access and then we found out the exit street would be blocked with the 'domes' used in the Dickens festivities! It was a little tricky with the parking, otherwise was a great experience. The staff was very helpful and efficient. Check in/out was quick. Plan to take advantage of this location again.

Loudest hotel I have ever stayed at If you like peace and quiet this is not the place. For whatever reason, they stuck me in the room that was being worked on outside nonstop. It was a corner room and there were people looking in my windows. I was on the third floor . They were banging on the walls nonstop. It went on for hours so I finally had to message the front desk. They told me that nonsense would be going on until 6 PM . Then they were at it again at 8 o’clock in the morning. There is a train that ran right under my window as well that went by quite often with a very loud horn. The room was also not very clean.

No room for us in the Inn We have been loyal Hilton Honors Diamond members for years.We have stayed at this hotel off and on since 2015.I really have nothing to say about the location,the cleanliness and ambiance of the hotel itself.My problem was with staff and how rude and un accommodating they were.As Hilton Honor members you are allowed to check in a couple of days before your arrival.I checked in and picked the room which we had stayed in many times and our pick was confirmed.Upon arrival the person at the desk placed us in another room on the same floor we picked but not the room we picked.When I questioned it he said that the people in the room we had picked and were confirmed for was not available because the people that were occupying that room had decided to stay over.I asked him if there was another room on any floor with a water view and he abruptly said no.Now as I’ve stated we have stayed at this hotel many times before and the day we checked in I noted that the parking lot was virtually empty.The person at the check in was abrupt at said there was nothing available and never tried to get a room more suitable.We thought maybe the next day the people in the room we wanted might move on and the hotel would offer to let us move there since we were only a few rooms away but alas that wasn’t going to happen.I just feel this hotel wasn’t willing to accommodate us even providing an opportunity to pick a second room even if it wasn’t what we had initially chosen.We really enjoyed coming to this hotel in the past.It’s location,it’s quaintness and friendly accommodating staff.I guess being a Hilton Honors Diamond member carries no weight.I think we will find other accommodations on the island the next time we visit.

Excellent Hotel I travel with my work and I always stay at this hotel. The front desk is always accommodating and very kind. The hotel is always decorated and everyone is always so friendly. The rooms are very clean, the housekeeping staff is always so accommodating for any special requests. I stopped in for an evening Bite and they had cheesecake :-) it was delicious. The breakfast was very plentiful and had many different options and the staff that was working in the kitchen was very friendly. They asked to make sure everything was just perfect. Fernandina is such a cute town that this hotel is the perfect location. I call it the hidden gem :-) I tried a new restaurant called the patio, which was within walking distance and it was amazing.

Nice hotel with super location Excellent location. You can walk to everything here. Suites are very spacious. Good sized vanities. Plenty of toiletries. Clean. Courteous front desk. Breakfast is included. Mediocre food, but convenient. Women working the dining area don’t seem to have any supervision, maybe management could be more attentive there. The harbor view room was nice. Also stayed in a room facing a restaurant with live music- noisy until 9pm. The biggest downside here were the mattresses. We stayed in a room with two queens and tried sleeping in both beds, but neither one was good. We also had a king room, and mattress was the same. Please upgrade your mattresses, and this hotel would seem much more upscale!
