Economy hotel The only reason we like this place is for a two bedroom suite with two bathrooms. I've reviewed this place before and its consistent. Average free breakfast in the mornings from 7-9am. They now charge $5 to park your car which is a bit odd but most places are keeping a low rate and just adding fees. I thought the staff was nice. Rooms are beat up but seemed clean enough. This is not a fancy resort so I'm a bit surprised at some of the low reviews. If you're staying at an economy hotel, this is what you should expect. Clean sheets, average bed and pillows. Thats about it.

4.3 Review…..Really? We placed a 2 day reservation at Sonesta, Flagstaff. We had just stayed at the Scottsdale Mayo Sonesta, and found it very basic, but clean and welcoming. So we decided to try the Flagstaff Sonesta. Front desk employees were very nice and helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor. We were first greeted by a very filthy staircase, and at top of landing we found more filth. Staying positive we opened our door and were not happy with what we found. A tiny couch at foot of bed facing a small TV. The side of the couch had been clawed by a cat, looked disgusting, and smelled of animals. Tub was damaged, and blinds were gross. It is an extended stay hotel, but even full timers don’t deserve the condition of this hotel. We returned to front desk, and told them we were not going to stay. This place was not at all as it was described. I wish I had taken more photos. I hope they rehab it, as it is in a nice location. My advice if staying in Flagstaff….head downtown. Prices are the same and much closer to the action.

The pictures say it all! TERRIBLE first impression! My sister arranged for my wife and I to have a suite as a treat to celebrate my birthday on our trip to Flagstaff. She was mortified when she saw the room we were given. It was our first (and our last) time staying at a Sonesta property. While the young man who checked us in was as friendly and professional as one could ever hope for, a great staff cannot make up for the room we were given. As you can see from the attached photos, the sofa was literally shredded, the side chair was worn out and the carpet was filthy. The room should NEVER have been given to ANY guest, which leaves us believing that the management actually considers this state of affairs acceptable. We do not. We asked to be moved to a different room, but none was available ... we were offered towels to cover up the shreds and we were told that an adjustment would be made to my sister's bill. Upon checkout we weren't able to see what that meant. To add another reason why this room should never have been assigned, one bathroom faucet was impossible to turn off and after numerous attempts to contact the front desk, we had to take matters into our own hands and shut off the water supply beneath the sink. (We have a video, but I don't see how to upload it here.) Bottom line ... whoever decided this was ok should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves, unless of course their decision was in line with the brand's standards, in which case we encourage everyone considering the Sonesta chain to think VERY carefully. Why were we not told about the condition of the room prior to our arrival so we could have made arrangements elsewhere? Would you put members of your own families into that room? IF management chooses to respond to this review, it should be to simply and directly say, "You're right. We're sorry. Please forgive us." Seriously, WHAT is management thinking???

Good night of rest The pros- the room was clean, bed and pillows comfortable, plenty of space. The kitchen is a HUGE bonus. The cons- breakfast is not available until 0700. We needed to be back on the road by 0700. They charge for parking. There is no parking available if you are towing.

Ick! Stay Away! Employees are nice, but wow, this place needs attention! The couch was frayed and patched, both showers had cracks and loose fittings. One toilet seat was cracked (ouch!). The coffee pot was cracked and the water poured out. We kept shoes on as the carpet was gross. It was filthy outside our room. The electrical plugs were so loose it seemed like a fire hazard. I’d avoid this place. Second and last Sonesta Suites for us. I’m guessing they buy old word down Residence Inns and put new signs up.
