Quite nice I have to admit, I was nervous after reading quite a few negative reviews, and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the motel is. The room is extremely clean. Carpet is new. He bathroom is immaculate. Clean sheets, fluffy towels. The only negative is the table top & desk / dresser tops are a little worn. Not really a big deal. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Extremely Poor Business Management Extremely Poor Business Management-2 hours after making the reservation I called to cancel, kindly explaining my situation of wrong location, was given the run around to deter me. In the end, I was not permitted to cancel. This was 2 hours after a mistaken reservation. Makes me wonder how they run things necessary for business. Very Greedy!

Had to stay Because of a flat that happened late Friday night we were stuck staying at this place. I would normally never stay in a place like this. Water wouldn't shut off in the bathroom, bed spread dirty. The fridge didn't work, no water in vending machines. Carpets were dirty. I was very unimpressed with the front desk. If you do not have to keep going and pass this one up.

This Place Could Be So Much Better Unless you HAVE to stay in this hotel, it's probably best that you don't. I agree with previous reviews regarding the many flaws of this property and management. My partner and I requested to change rooms due to an awful acrid burning smell stemming from the air conditioner. When we conveyed our concerns to the female manager at the front desk, we were met with a confused face and an accusation of "And I bet you've used everything in the room already? All the soaps and towels and you've probably had a shower. Now I have to set that back up for another guest and you'll use everything up in another room costing me more money!" I responded with the facts yet again. That we were in the room for 45 minutes relaxing after a 8 hour travel day and did not do anything she had accused us of. That we simply wished to be moved to another room to avoid the odor. We were begrudgingly moved to another room after this unnecessary and off-putting argument. It's been my experience that hotels are happy to accommodate a room change where available. Not argue with you and accuse you of messing up the place. Our new room was rougher than the first. Cigarette stains on the bath tub, small mystery stains on two pillows and carpet's that I didn't feel comfortable walking on with my bare feet. But to avoid that kind of argument with the woman at the front desk again, we sucked it up and had a great visit with family in Fowlerville. After seeing two rooms in this establishment both had the following shared traits: - a dampness that will not go away when you turn on the A/C. sheets and carpeting are always wet to the touch. - an old cigarette smell - old and sometimes dingy furnishings. - carpets that are probably cleaned but have been in the establishment far before the currently owners purchased the place making the room feel dirtier than it probably is. It's uncomfortable. change your carpets out. - doors that do not sit well into their frames making any sound from outside feel like it's inside and any cigarette odor leak into your room. You don't sleep well here when the hotel is full. - cigarette stains on tubs - stained linens you're nervous to use. - water stained and peeling gray wallpaper All of the above are things that I have experienced in hotels, guest houses and motels around the world as well as in the USA. Small businesses struggle and I get that it can be costly to keep up with the smaller details of several rooms. But a few needed health related tune ups (mould inspections, carpet and wall paper changes to their rooms) as well as some MAJOR training in hotel guest service expectations wouldn't go amiss here. This establishment could really be so much better than it is.

Reasonable stop in mid Michigan My wife and I were looking for a place to stop on our way home from Detroit. I read many reviews for nearby hotels which appeared to be better. I noticed that this hotel although very reasonable had a few reviews that were not too complementary. However, I've learned that often when there are a small number of reviews (in this case 7), especially when they're so divergent that maybe it's worth taking a chance on the place. We were not disappointed. The room was quiet and clean. The bathroom was well appointed and designed. Some of the appearance was a little dated, but nothing that detracted from our stay. The free breakfast was Spartan but fresh and adequate. The Fowlerville Family restaurant is across the street and is a good place to get a hearty meal at reasonable prices.
