Clean and comfortable, with excellent staff We were there to visit family, and it was so nice to have a clean and comfortable place to stay. All staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. By staying there, you also support a family-owned business.

Nice stay at Super 8 by Wyndham Gilman Nice place, clean, courteous, locally owned. Safe area. They have continental breakfast with coffee and juices. Workout room. Free Wifi. Next door to truck stops. Couple of fast food restaurants nearby.

Disappointed . The motel is outdated. My room lacked a couch or easy chair. It only had a desk chair. Carpet in room old and dated. The breakfast was very poor. No hot food unless you want packaged oatmeal to put in a microwave oven or toast in a toaster. I had to go to the local diner just a short walk away to get a decent breakfast.The motel permeated with a smell of pungent food, which is fine if I was in a restaurant, but appalling in a motel. I got the feeling that the owner is just trying to maximize profit with doing or offering as little as possible to the guest. On a positive note, the room was clean, and housekeeping does a good job. I would not stay here again.

This is a dump my husband and I booked a room at the Gilman, IL hotel while traveling from Kansas City, Ks to Ludington, MI. We made our reservation through a website - one queen size bed. the facility claimed to have a pool and Olympic Sized Hot tub, the pictures of the facility were clean and bright. the pool was even featured in the pictures. we arrived around 5:30 pm and thought we were at the right place. The desk clerk had trouble with the computer and the man in the back office came out and helped her with the problem. I noticed at this time that the lobby looked NOTHING like the pictures on the website. we were assigned to room 121. we put our things in the room and had dinner. after dinner we noticed that there was not a pool. there is not an Olympic sized hot tub. the website claims that the facility has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place, not true. there is not a green area in front of the facility for pet relief. the water from the faucets smells like Sulphur and diesel fuel. there was only a full-size bed in the room, not a queen. the pictures of the rooms and lobby do not match the facility. the electrical outlet at the sink was scorched and painted over. the laundry facility was a washer dryer in the hallway just outside our door. the ice and vending machines in the lobby area were leaking the microwave in our room had food smeared on the buttons. the window did not secure/lock, it had a wood dowel to keep it closed. there were dead bugs around the window area and floor. the security of the facility is needless to say, lacking. we decided we were not going to stay the night. at about 7:15 pm, we gathered up our things and went to the front desk and asked to cancel our stay. when i explained to her that the facility did not match the online description, she looked at the photos online and said, that's not our hotel. the front desk clerk and the manager were very rude and said they would not refund our money. We noticed the next day in the daylight that the roof has several blue tarps. I noticed on TripAdvisor, they show the fake pool pictures too! Just so you know, there is no bar/lounge, no spa, no room service, no drycleaning or laundry service as stated on the TripAdvisor website. The noise from the train station is LOUD. These fake pictures are even posted on the Wyndham site. I have taken my complaint to the website that we booked through, and they have since change the description of the hotel but still have the fake pictures of this facility. It is our opinion that this facility has been misrepresented. we believe that someone from your main office should visit this facility and determine whether this facility should even qualify as a Wyndham hotel.
