Great service and a no-miss breakfast I have been several times in this hotel, I love to stay here when I stay at Guadalajara. The hotel used to be a Crown Plaza, so it has an "old" section more old-style around the pool rooms (beautiful pool area by th way) and a "new" section more business style. The buffette for breakfast is one of the best you can get in a hotel, I would stay there just for the brakfast. The staff is extremely kind and with strong service attitude.

Old rundown hotel I don’t mind old hotels, but I expect to look and be clean. But unfortunately there were several things that make me doubt it had been cleaned or they really did not care. The AC did NOT work on either of the 2 rooms we had. Bathroom doors would not lock. There were spots all over the pillow cases and sheets, and you can imagine they are stained but when you find a used soap in the shower and a tray of food outside your rooms as you come in, it makes you wonder. I let them know about the stained/dirty sheets and pillowcases and when they brought me a sheet it had what seemed like a squished bug.

A solid 3-star property Generously-sized room and bathroom with walk-in shower. A real shame that the bathroom drains ponged (clearly a long-standing unresolved issue) and the shower head only emitted a gentle trickle. Sitting alone in the executive lounge eating breakfast, watching the morning news on CNN and a member of staff comes in and just changes the channel to bloomberg and walks out. I mean, really? Having full-width, loose-fitting, downward-facing air-vents on a 7th floor window over a motorway was not the smartest idea by the architect. Apart from wasting energy with the aircon fighting the hot, humid air leaking in, the traffic noise disturbed my sleep every night. Also on the noise topic: the aircon either ran high-speed or not at all. Low and Medium speed fan settings had no effect. The property has been rightly downgraded from a Crowne Plaza. This property could get a better rating by a) fixing the drains in the bathroom, extractor noise and aircon; b) putting a towel rail in the bathroom to hang (and re-use) towels; c) re-open the roof-top, if not as a restaurant, at least as a bar; d) re-open the bar and provide service at the pool.

Week long working conference The hotel is acceptable (no more than that), but I'm having a hard time trying to fix an invoice problem. I was charged over US$ 260 on "laundry charges" (on top of US$ 20 for laundry services). Clearly a mistake. I've called them, I've e-mailed them. No responses.
