Stayed during renovations The hotel was undergoing both interior and exterior renovations. The breakfast area was closed and breakfast was moved to a meeting room. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There was a lack of the usual bathroom staples. The breakfast was a little limited. We were treated to a staff member and guest having a long conversation about the exes throughout breakfast. Not quite up to par.

Don't stay here...!!!! First of all...READ & HEED the reviews...and DO NOT stay here! They don't tell you in advance they're undergoing renovations that force you to traverse a war zone to get to/from your room. The room is spacious and they've improved the surfaces but the infrastructure...HVAC & toilet...are THE WORST! The only way to comfortably (?) control the A/C is to turn it off otherwise you are waking up all night to the ROAR of a fan that has only one speed apparently, H-I-G-H !! The toilet can barely flush #1 and Gawd forbid you put any TP innnit...disaster!!! Just avoid this dump altogether and stay about an hour down the road at Comfort Suites in Harrisonburg, VA. It's a little further off the 81 and they like to send you a ticket if you go over 25 MPH but it is a really nice hotel with walking distance eats and friendly folks at HALF the price of IHG!

Room without a view Stopped here because the driving distance fit my trip. The hotel is undergoing extensive renovations of which I was not aware when I booked. I requested an end room at either end of the hotel to avoid walking through all of the construction. The evening desk employee assured me the room I was assigned was close to one end. This was not true. My room was directly above the centrally placed first floor dining area. The good points were a newly remodeled, large room. But there are older problems, such as the toilet would barely flush. Then, there's the scenic view depicted in the photo. Lots of other options at this exit.

Ongoing Renovations - Health and Safety Issues We recently stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions in March 2024. A large scale renovation is in progress in a few of the wings of the hotel, and customers are being asked to navigate their way to and from their rooms through these unsafe work areas. During both stays, we were moved to the renovated portion of the hotel (which was fine) but the other areas are unsafe and should be cordoned off to ensure guest safety, as well as the hotel front desk and cleaning staff who are working in these unsafe work areas. Elevator safety is in question as well so we opted to take the stairs. The hotel's website was not clear on the extent of the renovations and what to expect. As well, during our second stay our room was not ready for us when we arrived. We were eventually moved to another room after a one hour wait.

Avoid this hotel! This hotel was once a reliably good property. We are now so upset about our recent stay, we will never return. The hotel is under construction. Beware. All the employees were incompetent and rude. We were charged 40.00 at check-in for “incidental charges,” which were in case we smoked in the room, brought pets, or stole. This was not reflected on our bill at checkout, but we were told it would not be returned for 7 to 10 days. The checkout clerk refused to give her name. The manager was “not there.” Also, the room charge was $50.00 more than the original price quoted. The clerk insisted we booked on a third party site, so no receipt was possible. We booked on the IHG website, but no points for me were applied as a rewards member- she told me I would have to do that myself. We were treated like criminals and no one did anything to provide the bare minimum of cooperation or guest service. We were stonewalled. We never Conduct ourselves with anything but patience and courtesy. In this case, we received none of that. Do not stay at this hotel.
