Good for a stopover Half Moon Bay wasn't my destination, but for a half way stop between Los Angeles and Humboldt counties it was perfect. Clean, quiet and a nice attentive staff is good enough for me, and five minutes away from Cameron's English Pub which I really like.

Perfect trip ruined I would give this place a 0 if I could it started off nice bed was comfortable view was bad if I knew the balcony was facing hwy 1 I would of never got the balcony suite. After that night we were charged an extra amount for smoking which we 100% didnt do since there is a no smoking policy and also the smoke detectors are so sensitive it will go off from "shower steam and vape pens".... but yet we still got charged and the manager refused to reverse the charges......on top of that there were several fraudulent charges on my card after that including 5 days after the visit... non of which I authorized and the hotel would not claim responsibility so there are untrusting employees there as well.... I am furious from this experience and never will go there again and I recommend that no one else goes either.

You really can do better elsewhere If this were anywhere else but Half Moon Bay, this would just be a standard, old motel. Plusses: the room was very clean, it tolerates dogs ($50 extra a night per dog) and it is in Half Moon Bay. The staff is very nice. Good mattress. Modern bedside lamps with (much appreciated) electrical outlets. Minuses: (and there are several!) You cannot check in prior to 3:00 pm unless you want to pay $50.00 extra. We tried to check less that 60 minutes prior to 3:00 pm. No offer to see if the room was ready, no acknowledgement that it was less than one hour until check in time, just a warning of an extra $50.00. Result? There's a mad rush at the counter exactly at 3:00 pm when everyone tries to check in all at once. The motel is (through no fault of its own) right on the highway. The walls are thin; you WILL NEED EARPLUGS so don't forget them. As per their website, you CANNOT book a pet friendly room on Booking.com (for absolutely no good reason). Although there is a free, hot breakfast, it is the (now standard) *reheated* identical omelets and inedible sausages as seen at motels everywhere. It is a nice offer, but you'll want to eat breakfast elsewhere. Unless you really need a "pet friendly" motel, book your stay elsewhere.

First and last visit to this motel Was asked if we minded a pet room which apparently was all that was left and we said no. The room was clean and there was a wood/Lino type floor but it was absolutely filthy and my husband spent three nights skating around the floor with facecloths on his feet. At breakfast on the second day I asked the lady if she had any rice crispies as I had them on the first morning, she replied that they weren’t on the menu. She was unhelpful and was obviously in a mood. These cereals were in pots and she could have given me one so I went to Walmart and bought my own box. We were charged more for an extra night and after my husband challenged this, the receptionist and a maid were speaking in their own language which was obvious they were talking about him. Incidentally the room window looked right onto a door and wall where there were two other rooms on the overhang. It’s the worst place I’ve ever stayed and if you check my reviews in trip advisor I’ve never left one like this. It was expensive for little in return, just under $600 for three nights
