A beacon in the night We were so lucky to get a room. It was clean and the bed was a little hard but comfortable. Breakfast was good. If in the area, this is the place to stay. Damaging storms in the area - some minor damage to the portico here also. The pool was working when we were there.

Money hungry owner The owner is only concerned with taking your money. Firstly we were price gouged beyond belief. When we stay we paid almost 3x the going rate because of the eclipse. And for that we got, nothing extra, not even good service. An aggressive staff member yelled at us during breakfast for not having a wrist band, which was required because they were so afraid of someone stealing a plate of food. There was not a single person that didn’t belong there, but that lady got a little bit of power for the day and became mean. The comforter was stained and gross, the carpet felt damp and moldy. The building overall needs attention, you can tell they don’t fix things correctly or all the way, they try to cover it up and it looks terrible. Wouldn’t come back, not even if it were free.

Courteous and clean, but my experience with this room gets a 2 out of 5. Receptionist was friendly, gave an excellent restaurant recommendation to Lambert’s Cafe. Room 109 had been smoked in by a previous guest, but we didn’t feel up to requesting a change after a long drive and dinner. The smell was verified by housekeeping at receptionist’s request, when we informed them at checkout. We also informed them that the wash basin is cracked, and the shower control handle was very loose. Room and bathroom were otherwise clean. Towel quality is rated 2 out of 5. It was possible to hear guests walking around in the room above, and to hear the exterior door closing in the hall adjacent to the room. Drapes overhang the window a/c unit making it difficult to heat or cool the room.

Friendly staff and clean room, but this place needs updating So this is not a town with a lot of options, but the Comfort Suites still needs to try a bit harder. Our room appeared clean, if a little worn-looking. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. However: no coffee makers in the room, which is really not acceptable. I don't want to have to go down to the breakfast room at 6 am to get coffee. And I noticed several spiders in the room. I know it's summertime in a rural area, but that shouldn't happen. And although I hadn't planned to use the pool, I was surprised to see it closed "for the season" as the sign said. The summer season? On top of that, the pool water was green and gross-looking, obviously untended and unhealthy. Why would they just leave it like that? Do better.

Disappointed. Not as advertised. We booked a stay here to attend a family reunion. Was supposed to have a pool (one major reason for us staying here since we had our granddaughter with us). We arrive at the hotel only to be told that the pool is closed. I had booked on the Choice Hotels app and didn’t see anything about the pool being closed. We arrived in the evening and were told that we would still be charged for the room whether we decided to stay or go somewhere else. With no other option, we stayed. Room and bed were comfortable enough. Room was a little dusty/dirty and there were many places that were showing signs of wear and age. Not to mention several stains on the carpet. Wouldn’t have been much of a problem other than being overcharged for a room and not having access to a pool as advertised. Oh well. Won’t make the mistake again.
