Candlewood Suites Indianapolis East by IHG

STAY AWAY UPDATE! IHG and the hotel did nothing to remedy the situation. All they have said is "the hotel has been in constant communication" which is a lie i have emails to prove it, and "we have comp'd your room" well rightly you should because of the bed bugs but as far as helping us or anything else to make the situation correct is awful and they have basically said go pound sand we are not doing anything else! Do yourself a favor and never stay at an IHG property, when things go wrong they will do the LEAST and they don't care about customers! This hotel and everything about it is a joke. They are unwilling to reimburse me for the crap they put my family thru. Needless to say they have made a bad situation worse! good JOB IHG, We are hear for a soccer tournament and needless to say this hotel put us in a less desirable situation. Well we found a crap ton of bed bugs around the bottom edge of our floor AND one was on the bed. we immediately picked all of our stuff up and even captured some of said bugs in a glass to take to the counter. Went down to the counter and told them we are leaving and want a full refund. By the response of the desk person it was almost like they knew there was a problem. i didn’t notice it but the other family that was with us noticed his “slip up”. Needless to say it’s 10:50 at night and we are at a laundry mat dry cleaning everything we own all the while trying to figure out how to get our son to sleep because he is still playing in a tournament in the morning. just do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel. realistically it needs completely sprayed not to mention it’s not in the best part of town. One more note the stench in this hotel ESP our room was aweful. it smelled like someone perfumed over cigarettes to make it smell like crap! STAY AWAY!!!!

An okay hotel... a bit dated, though, and not worth the price. I met up with a couple of friends in Indianapolis over a weekend in July 2024, and we stayed at this Candlewood Suites. It was okay... nothing special. We had two separate rooms... one where I stayed with one friend and another where our other friend and his spouse stayed. I was the first one to arrive. I arrived a couple hours before the official check-in time. At first, I was told that the room wasn't ready and that I'd have to come back later. But then I had to use the restroom in the lobby, and when I went to leave the building, the gentleman at the front desk stopped me and me that he could get me into a room which was great! The room wasn't the same setup that we had originally planned on, but it was fine because a different friend (who required the other room setup) had to back out of our trip... so I took the room that was available early. I think there was a bit of a language barrier, though, with the front desk clerk. When he first told me that the room wasn't ready, he became somewhat defensive and thought I was really angry when I wasn't; all I was trying to do was ask the question about whether the room was ready... and explain that it was fine if it wasn't. The cleanliness of the room (#122) was okay, but the room was in need of upgrades. Some paint on the walls had chipped off and the desk chair was really worn. Out in the hallway, there were times when I could smell a bit of weed. Thankfully, it wasn't too prominent and didn't last long. After I got settled into the room, I realized that the type of room that I ended up getting had a lower cost than the type of room that I had originally booked... so I spoke with the manager and he was able to give me a discount on the room which I appreciated. This hotel doesn't have a pool or hot tub, and I believe breakfast is somewhat limited. (No big deal, though, because my friends and I had breakfast elsewhere both of the mornings we were in the area.) Overall, this was an okay hotel and we all slept fairly well... but it was just average/dated and I can't really see myself wanting to stay again. It was expensive for what it was, and it can definitely use some updating.

Roach Motel with rude morning front desk staff! Awful!!!!! If I could give less than one star I would. 1. Non smoking room smells of smoke 2. Within the first 20 minutes I saw 4 live cockroaches in my room 3. Someone from the front desk knocked on my door at 9am very rudely and very loudly complaining about some mistake in their system about which room we were given. I’m not really even sure of the intent. Absolutely uncalled for.we had arrived very late and really needed the sleep. Worst hotel experience! Really should not have the ratings it has. This is a horrible hotel!

Disappointed Highly disappointed in this hotel. I went there for a get away trip with my children. Had to end my trip early due to the fact that this hotel had roaches crawling from everywhere!!! Told the worker what was going on an he said they just sprayed the hotel and recommended me to another room I politely declined and packed me and my 3 kids belongings and headed home at 11pm and my drive home was 6.5hrs!!!

Comfy, clean stay! Amazing service and the room was exceptionally clean! The bed was super comfy. First time staying at a Candlewood Suites and this one set the bar high. I will plan to stay at another in the future. The price is amazing for the quality and size of the room.
