Hampton Inn, Jackson, MI While in south central Michigan, my daughter and I stayed at the Hampton Inn, Jackson. It was a comfortable stay. The exercise room and pool were most welcome; The pool was clean, a nice temperature (not too hot or cold) and quite empty so relaxing was easy. Folks were nice at the desk at times of check in and out. About the only negative I found was the lack of fresh fruit. Most Hamptons have several options available, but the sole fruit on our departure morning was oranges. Other than that, all was well. If you are visiting the area, I recommend the hotel.

Avoid this hotel, unless they make big changes. This hotel needs serious renovations/updates. The parking lot is next to a very shady motel next door with an abandoned building in the front of the hotel. The elevator was hot. The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. I stayed on the third floor in a king room. The room smelled musty. There were stains on the valance, the door (huge blotches of stuff on the exit door - like what?), the couch. The bathroom had mismatched towels, mold on the shower curtain and two shampoos in the shower instead of a shampoo/conditioner. The shower drain did not drain - I was showering in ankle deep water. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Stay far far away! Stay as far away as you can from this place! I'm going to try to be as objective as possible here and will point out the goods things. 1. We arrived at 8 pm. When we arrived we were told that our rooms were not paid for and we had to pay. However, I had two prepaid rooms through the Hilton website. We waited for almost two hours. I called Hilton three times and they said to the front desk staff that it was paid for. The front staff called the manager and finally they "allowed" us to go to our room and was told that things were going to be settled in the morning. The morning came and a different staff member told me the night staff forgot to change the reservation from credit card to prepaid. 2. The beds are OLD. Our king size bed had a hole in the middle and absolutely no support. I believe that it's one of those mattresses that you can flip, not sure but I believe it was. 3. The hotel offers clean up/tidy up every other day. We stayed Tuesday to Friday. On Thursday morning at 10 am we get a knock on the door. The lady asks what we needed. She handed my husband trash bags and towels. Yup, we were supposed to take trash out by ourselves and I guess keep piling towels one on top of the other. I called the front desk and asked for our room to be done. We come back late at night. Trash was out and old towels were taken. However, the beds were not done. Rolls of clean sheets were left on our three beds/two bedrooms. Yes, we are supposed to make our own beds. Good things about the hotel: Breakfast. It was good. However, the waffle maker was broken. Room products. They have Seven products and they are pretty good. They do not leave your skin dry. Ac/Heating Unit. They work as they are supposed to. I stay in hotels all the time. Some for professional reasons and many more for family vacation. This was a family vacation. This place is good for a one night stop and done. Manager needs to work on training their staff and updating the beds.

DON'T GO IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM! Staff very polite, room clean. Facility needs some updating. AVOID THE LAUNDRY ROOM. There is a serious mold problem in the laundry room and there are no laundry supplies available (sign says they have supplies at front desk but front desk staff says no, they have nothing). The mold issue is overwhelming, you don't want to get your clothes anywhere near that room. Went to outside laundromat rather than attempt this one. I have a severe mold allergy and am still suffering days later just from stepping in that room. Husband (no allergies) was also gagging from the smell in there.

A worn hotel with bad smelling rooms A worn hotel with stinky rooms. I am pretty surprised that this can be a Hilton hotel ! The hotel is worn, the rooms smell a lot. Inhad to wash all my clothes in my lugagge when I returned home to Europe. Cleaning needs to be requested, except you only want every 4th day … with this also new towels or soap. I requested a cleaning after 2 days … you need to be very specific if you want a clean room! The staff is very service minded and polite. If I should go back to Jackson again I will choose another hotel.
