Sarah - Thank YOU Our stay was amazing thanks hugely to “Sarah” at the front desk. She is truly an asset to your hotel making my wife and I very comfortable & welcome on two recent stays. Each and every time, I (we) walked by and asked Sarah anything, she was always friendly and not a fake smile - very genuine. For example, I asked Sarah about renting bikes and a beach chairs. She gave me information for both right away. Stayed now a couple of visits house hunting in the NE FL coast. In contrast, do not let other employees, in contrast, ruin your trip. Thanks again Sarah! Your hotel management should be very happy to have you as an employee. I hope at your next review that they increase your salary significantly, keep you, and most appreciated for your efforts by your manager. Honorable mention - Lakesha was terrific as well; thank you both! Thank You Hampton-Jacksonville!!! Lawrence Emnett Elbert, Colo. Special Operations Iraq Veteran ’82-’04

All good, except ongoing renovations Cold weather isn't hotel's fault, but high room price during low(ish) season...especially when half of the building was under renovation wasn't that nice of a surprise. Room itself was spacious enough and balcony towards to sea was real nice. Location is quite OK, famous pier and many other hotels, bars and restaurants are all pretty close. Complimentary breakfast was OK and decent looking pool area we had skip this time.

A Balanced Review. The good news first.. if I was with small kids this would be a great choice, as long as your room faces the road, not the ocean OR sides of the building. Kids will flip out over the pool and beach. The bad news...major reno taking place on this 65 year old property with 177 rooms...resurfacing all 7 stories renders oceanfront balconies UNUSEABLE. Construction workers are wearing commercial grade respirators, so unless you want to join that party... Week prior request for top floor as Diamond went ignored. Asked to be moved when avail, informed "we don't do that"...which I heard as "no, we don't care to accommodate our guests' requests". Whatever. Carole seems to spend most of her time in the evening yelling across the lobby to people in the bar. Yes the other reviews of this property are accurate...dispensers falling off the walls, hot water issue(you have to run it awhile). But it was all very clean, housekeeping staff very pleasant. So, sure great with kids if you get a deal online. Forget the balconies.

Horrible Experience Do NOT stay at this hotel This was the worst Hilton hotel experience we have ever had. We are Hilton members because we desire consistency of quality and enjoy the rewards our loyalty to the brand brings. However, this hotel is the worst. Our biggest complaint is the fact we did not have hot water for our stay. Both my husband and I took cold showers every day we were there. We contacted the front desk multiple days and their advice was: run the hot water in the bathroom sink and the warm water should start after a few minutes ...and then that the manager would contact us. Well, hot water did not come, and also, seriously...you are going to have us run the water in the sink to get the hot water going? We paid $1,400 for our stay, really?! And the manager never reached out to us either. It was like the building hot water tank never got filled up or stayed filled up; for $1,400 dollars over Thanksgiving Break! This is outrageous. I contacted Hilton upon returning asking for a full refund and Hilton said the manage would contact us; again, they never did. And when I re-contacted Hilton for a follow up, they said they spoke to the Manager who said there was hot water during our stay. The Manager flat out lied. The front desk even told us on 2 days of our stay to turn the hot water on in the sink and let it run and that they had heard other tenants complained of not having hot water either. I am very disappointed with both Hilton and this hotel at this point. My husband and I are not made of money, so this was a big expense for us. We had looked forward to getting out of the cold Mid West Winter and having a warm shower in warmish Florida over Thanksgiving, while visiting Family. Instead, we had to take cold showers over multiple nights. Also, if you are allergic to heavy fragrances, the cleaners at the hotel are so strong. The whole lobby, building and rooms smell overly fragranced with cleaner...probably covering up some other kind of problem. We will stay up the beach at One Ocean Resort next time at this price; and instead enjoy a reliable stay there. This Hampton Inn was a nightmare. Be Warned. Also, they don't have any nice beach rentals either. The whole place sucked. And there was construction all holiday outside our window at 8am every morning.....so loud that we had to walk further down the beach to lay our towels. The pool is gross and filthy with too many people, way over crowded, crappy breakfast, every thing sucked here. The people who worked there were nice though; except for the awful, lying manager of course. I never leave reviews this bad, but everybody with authority in this situation completely blew it. Finally, the view outside the window was gorgeous...the only silver lining. BUT, the railing on the balcony is right at eye level for the chairs that they provide. So literally when you look out on you balcony you can't even see the view without the rail right at eye level. You have to stand up. What's the point of this place? Nothing in my book. Serious changes need to happen, with...uh ...providing warm water for starters. Sheesh.
