Great staff, great location if seeing an event at Summit Arena, building could use some work, For the cost it and location to the Summit Arena it was suitable. The staff is extremely friendly, kind and helpful. Rooms were clean and appeared to be renovated recently. The building itself is old and the renovation could have been better. All and all for the cost it worked great for a one night stay

Overpaid & still needs a lot of work! We had 2 rooms. One room was acceptable. The rooms appeared to have been newly painted with LVL flooring. Other room had squished roach parts on a number of walls and door the shower was gross, moldy and black floor. Bed was horrible- one side totally worn down and you can feel springs through. Breakfast is very basic. The waffle batter was difficult to dispense and the syrup trickled out of its dispensar. We clearly overpaid for what we got!

Good staff.. NO hot water The front desk was very efficient and friendly. Motel is not in the best neighborhood. Wouldn't feel safe outside after dark, Motel itself seems secure. Room was very clean. Needed to ask for a shower curtain? It was brought up and my husband put it on..no big deal it just snapped over shower rod. Biggest complaint is that there wasn't any hot water either in the evening or the morning. I called the front desk in the evening and was told that the water heater is iffy, may heat up later? Lukewarm showers in the evening and also in the morning. We didn't check out early as we were hoping to have hot water for a morning shower. No such luck. This is something that was a known problem and management or the owner just doesn't care. Too many other places to stay that have hot water and only cost a bit more.

OK for one night stay We stayed one night at the Econo Lodge Johnston. We were in room 202. This was a basic room with TV, A/C, small fridge, iron and ironing board in it. The bed was a queen (I think) but it seemed a bit small. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The ice machine is down in the lobby. Also in the lobby is one computer terminal, but I didn't use it. There is a coffee machine in the lobby, and a juice dispenser. They were giving out to-go bags of breakfast stuff to go with it. The room could have been cleaner, as I found some trash and 2 pennies on the table next to the bed. But that was the only notable problem. I understand that during longer stays, they don't clean your room every day.

Don't go First let me say that the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. No complaints there at all. However the place itself is terrible - Is this owned by a person, or a corporation? Not sure, but whomever is responsible has completely given up. When we entered our room the first thing we encountered (within 3 feet of the door) was a worn, stained and ripped chair. Who would sit on that? Better to just remove it and have NO chair, than have that greeting you. Plugs for devices were practically nonexistent, ended up having to disconnect the refrigerator in order to plug in our computer. That resulted in the fridge defrosting and leaking water all over. The one (non-grounded) outlet in the bathroom was so loose that our plugs simply fell out - no way to get them to stay in. And, as another reviewer noted, the entire place smells of smoke. Johnstown is ridiculously limited in places to stay - we opted out of the Holiday Inn after discovering dirty clothes from a previous guest in our room - DURING COVID. But Econo Lodge is not a good fall-back; I'll stay further out of town if necessary.
