Don’t Bother This was the third time we stayed at QI in Kenai. Prior stays were fine, decent clean hotel for a decent price. Not the Ritz, but we’re there fishing. This time service was horrendous. Two days no service, went to the desk the second night and said we want full service including sheets. Third day trash was emptied, given towels, the beds weren’t even straightened. Fourth day same. No evidence of vacuuming. Finally on the fifth day suddenly beds were being made. A top sheet as a duvet cover was pretty back woods! Clerk didn’t have change for laundry (we’re salmon fishing trust me we need laundry). 5th day got the classic inquiry “how’s everything going”. When we responded honestly got sarcasm and antagonism in return. Definitely won’t be a fourth trip here.

Good Stay Stayed here on business. No complaints! Basic, simple room with all the necessities, free breakfast, lots of parking, and reasonable rates. It is right in town close to everything. Would stay here again.

Evicted Over Pool Hours We've stayed at this hotel multiple times over the last couple years while dipnetting in July. Their breakfast is awesome and pool has always been the highlight for our kids. Our most recent stay was horrible and something I would not want any guest to experience, so I feel compelled to write this review. Before our 2-day stay, Elaine was accommodating and helpful over the phone in booking our room. Throughout our visit we had no issues with any of the staff at Quality Inn until the last evening of our stay. On our last night, we went to the pool around 8pm with our 4 kids. Around 9, I returned to our room with our youngest child while the other 3 remained in the pool with my spouse. There was another parent at the pool with 2 children swimming also. Sometime after 9pm, the front desk clerk entered the pool area and demanded that the children exit the pool, and both parents proceeded to leave. My spouse was assisting 2 of our kids rinsing off at the shower when the clerk returned (within 2 minutes of notifying him) and said, "I thought I told you to get out of the pool! I can evict you, you know." The other parent and my spouse thought her language was an overreaction, and neither of them were aware of any pool hours beyond those posted, indicating 11pm. All parents and kids left the pool area. When my spouse returned to the room, I asked him to request more bath towels from the front desk since there are no phones in the rooms to call, so he tried calling on his phone, but no answer. He went to speak with the clerk in person. When he approached her, she was on her personal cellphone with the hotel manager saying, "These parents refused to get their kids out of the pool and we should evict them." My spouse asked to speak with the manager to clarify what happened, and the clerk handed my spouse her cellphone and said, "Here, talk to her." My spouse asked the manager on the phone (Melinda) what the pool hours were and explained how we never saw pool hours posted beyond the 11pm closure, and usually the last hour is reserved for adults only at other hotels. There was confusion since the clerk told him the pool closed at 10pm. Melinda told my spouse, "You know the rules. We can kick you out, and did you know we're the only hotel in Kenai so good luck finding a place to stay." My husband asked if this was a threat, and all of this seemed excessive. Melinda said, "You know what? I'm done, I'm calling the cops." The cops came by our room around 11pm after we were settling the kids in for bed. We reported this sequence of events and the young officer mentioned how they get calls from this manager frequently and he's usually able to smooth things out. The police officer returned saying that since the hotel is a private business they can refuse service to anyone and we had to leave, a 3 hour drive back home. We already paid for the room and were checking out the next morning. We filed a formal complaint with Choice Hotels and requested a refund through AMEX, since we paid for a service not rendered. The appropriate response by Melinda and Quality Inn Kenai should have been to refuse future service to guests who violate their pool hours, not evict an entire family at 11pm before their checkout the following morning. Melinda and the front desk clerk's behavior was bizarre and disproportionate to the issue at hand. We were not causing any disruption towards other guests or putting anyone at risk at the hotel, we simply lost track of time at the pool. I'm truly disappointed in the lack of professionalism by the front desk and manager at Quality Inn Kenai, but looking forward to doing business elsewhere.

Excellent stay My husband & I stayed here 3 nights while exploring the Kenai peninsula. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable-would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was plentiful. Laundry was very reasonable at $1.50 per load.
