Babymoon Bliss Hubby and I came to Southernmost Resort to celebrate our babymoon. Annette immediately made it feel like an especially special celebration upon check-in with an upgrade to an absolutely perfect ocean front room on the first floor near the pool and spa (a most thoughtful and appreciated gesture to a pregnant woman). Our room was very clean upon arrival, and so tastefully decorated! The resort is lovely with multiple heated pools, a private beach with hammocks and chairs, a tanning pier, and all the charm that Key West has to offer. The spa also has prenatal massage certified therapists for expecting mothers. I had a wonderful massage from Adrienne. As for location, it is conveniently settled right at the end of Duval street. It is walking distance from the hustle and bustle while remaining a peaceful location. Hubby and I love being able to walk to and from the many delicious restaurants. Jules, the concierge, was spot on with her dining recommendations as well. If anything, I would just skip the breakfast at the hotel and venture to a nearby cafe. This has turned out to be the perfect place for a babymoon (or just a lovely and relaxing vacation). I will be recommending this resort to my mother if she ever makes it out here. Thank you to the Southernmost Resort for a very special babymoon.

Killer Views and Fantastic Location! We recently stayed at the Southernmost Beach Resort and had a very positive experience, thanks largely to the wonderful staff. The Room: Our stay started with a bit of a challenge. We were originally booked in the Avalon rooms, but the first three rooms we were shown had a peculiar, moldy smell. However, I cannot praise the staff enough for how they handled it. They immediately took ownership of the situation and upgraded us to one of the oceanfront buildings. This room was clean, fresh, and offered a much better experience. The Atmosphere: If you are looking for a quiet, zen pool side, be aware that the main pools were quite crowded with kids and featured a loud DJ. There is an adult pool on-site for those seeking a quieter vibe, but it was further than we were willing to walk from our building. We spent most of our time at the beach instead! Dining & Amenities: • Beachfront/Cafe: The food at the cafe was decent and the atmosphere was lovely. • Room Service: Note that there is no traditional room service here, but the cafe makes it very easy to bring food back to your room to enjoy on the balcony. The Highlights: The location is unbeatable. The sunrises and sunsets were absolutely killer—some of the best we’ve ever seen! Combined with the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the upgraded room, it made for a very memorable stay. Pro Tip: If you have any issues with your initial room, speak up! The team here is clearly dedicated to making sure guests have a great stay.

Should and could be better! So this goes against everything I would normally do. However having given the Southermost every opportunity to proactively do this via normal communication methods …. Like talking or the phone! They’ve left me with no choice but use this platform as they simply avoid actual resolution. My advise to travellers re this hotel - is heavy caution. Not because it’s a bad hotel, but because it simply falls short of what you expect for a 1500 dollar a night stay. This is our second stay here and my friends were due to stay this summer but I’ve advised against it. They’ll be able to do better. So let me start with the positives: - hotel position amazing - Views from room 8202 sublime - Room large - Shore Pool Bar staff really great The feedback on a more negative level that I do need to share is as follows: - no in room phone - this means if you need additional towels, more toilet paper or have an issue you need to ring the ‘freephone’ number. Which isn’t freephone to international guests!! Just put phones in the rooms! Especially those miles from reception. - Upon check in, which was at 7.30pm I specifically asked if the sofa bed had been made up in preparation for our son whom is clearly on the booking. I was advised yes! It wasn’t and so as per point one above it cost me money to phone the reception to rectify their mistake! Someone was then sent to me….i opened the door and the member of staff went to hand me two sheets to make up the bed myself! I politely told him he needed to make the bed up. He then presents me a sofa bed with sheets and no pillows! I had to advise him to go and find some pillows which I think we can all agree as fairly basic! - The room has a mini kitchen but have no glasses for drinks in..just flimsy plastic cups wrapped in cellophane. Feels very basic and not sustainable! - Bathroom toiletries are very basic scent and quality wise. Referred to as sustainable!! - Very limited amenities - no shower caps, dental kits etc. not aligned to rack rate charges! - Housekeeping schedule is non existent. After our first night (at 1pm) I messaged the concierge service to check my room was being made up. They apologised and sent someone to make up room. Pretty sure we’d have been forgotten. Second night i messaged at 1.45pm to check our room was being made up as we’ve run out of toilet roll, needed towels etc…received profuse apologies as definitely had been forgotten. At 4pm I went back to our room and it still hadn’t been done! A different individual on the concierge service advised me they had until 5pm to service my room. I emphatically advised that wasn’t an option when toilet roll had run out! Third night (checking out) the cleaner was stood outside our room at 10.30 am waiting for us to leave!! The irony. - The hotel is a bit tired in places…from the creaky sofa bed, to cracked tiles or lifted floor in the room through to sagging chairs at pool bar. All in all it just feels like the management has an arrogance about Key West being busy and small and that they are just creaming in revenue with little regard to actual guest experience. As a Key West regular, I’d be inclined to recommend The Santa Maria Suites or Casa Marina as better value alternatives after the experience of the last few days
