Worst Customer Service Ever!!! This review saddens to me write but the customer service at the Banyan is the absolute worst I've ever experienced at a hotel. It is beyond terrible! They are not handling the current pandemic and have become incredibly rude and lazy. We usually enjoy staying here and actually wanted to purchase a timeshare, but unfortunately will not be after our last experience. The front desk staff and people on the phone (since you call for everything, even check in) are not helpful and borderline disrespectful. Our ice maker wasn't working, when I called to inquire if they had an ice machine somewhere on property- I was told I could walk down the street to Walgreens or CVS. We had incident after incident while staying there. We had asked about adding a few nights to our trip shortly after check in, asked to be added to a wait list, and were told that there was no way we would get a room. At check in, we were told we would have no maid service (which is fine) and to leave our trash, recycling, and linens in bags outside our door for touchless pickup. We left a small bag of trash outside our door as requested. It sat there for 36 hours, until an older woman from the office came outside to tell us (as we were leaving and already almost off property) that we needed to take our trash to the dumpsters ourselves, which are located down the block. I couldn't believe the level of rudeness and the absurdity of this woman's behavior. The resort is nice overall. The rooms are ok, outdated but good enough for Key West. We love the grounds, pools, and trees. But unfortunately Micheal and Megan both made our trip difficult and treated us poorly on repeated occasions. If the staff doesn't get their act together they are going to run this resort into the ground. On a positive note, Kathy at the tiki bar is wonderful and makes amazing drinks! We come down at least once a year with usually a large group of friends (8 people this past year). Because of how bad this year's experience was, none of us will ever stay here again and we will not be purchasing a timeshare either. I've never in my life been told to take my own trash to a dumpster, walk 3 blocks to a Walgreens for ice, and have maid service refused for a 3 night stay. I hope this review helps someone else avoid this place, it really put a huge damper on our trip!

Our Favorite Key West Hide Away. Charming and friendly. We have stayed at the Banyan 8 out of the last 10 years we have come down to KW. Great folks run the place and work there, excellent amenities, and fantastic location. We always have a wonderful time and always stay at least 7 nights. The Banyan is as close to old Town, old school Key West as you can get. And we all know how old town KW is vanishing way too quickly. For us, we love the perfect imperfections. It’s a charming and inviting place to stay. The location is centered perfectly, not too far from the Southernmost Point, a nice walk to the Sea Port and Schooner Wharf, Close to Duval and all the live music venues, Hanks, The Green Parrot, Smoking Tuna. Yes you will hear Roosters through the night! Welcome to Key West folks. They have Bikes for rent there to cruise around the island and the pools get just the right amount of mid- afternoon sun after a day out on a boating adventure, it’s a perfect place to take a light nap before heading out for the night time activities etc. We love it there and can’t recommend the Banyan enough. We are planning to return in 2021 and can’t wait.

Loud and cardiac testing The suite itself was very nice. The bedroom was decorated in island style; the bathroom was large and so was the sitting area. The kitchenette was compact/small, but we made due. This would have been a higher rating except for two reasons - the wild roosters crowing at 4am and onward, the noisy trucks passing on the street below, and having to carry luggage and any parcels we had during our week stay up 21 steep stairs to the suite. We would go up and down as little as possible and take only what we needed for the day. Left stuff in the car too. Oh! One very nice pro was the shaded balcony off the bedroom to eat meals when we wished or just relax and hope the roosters and trucks were quiet for awhile.

Peaceful Key West charm a block from the craze We loved our stay in The Locke House that we extended our stay with a move over to The Cosgrove House. Both Houses were equally lovely. The Locke House offered more space and privacy with excellent natural light inside. While The Cosgrove had a humongous front porch with a beautiful view of one of the Banyan trees. An awesome perch to people watch! The charm is in the architecture and the landscaping. 2 nice quaint pools (1 for adult, 1 for kids), a hot tub and the cutest little poolside bar. Met great people there, including Martin at the bar and an owner named Clark. Our next stay is already booked. Maybe The Delaney, Abernathy or Sawyer-Thorpe becomes our next dwelling? All I know, is we are going to love it all over again! Thank you to all at The Banyan Resort!!!!

IF you stay here, Do NOT book the room near the office (501) We booked a room and they put us by the office (4 adults) - it was the ONLY room available. There is only one bedroom and a sofa bed. You can't sleep here. If you close the blinds, it feels like a sunny day. The lights outside all shine in the unit. Street noise is awful - street cleaners, loud people, motorcycles. The roosters do not shut up! The sofa bed's mattress was so thin that my husband had to sleep on the floor on top of the sofas pillows, and he is a large guy. No one (4 of us) slept that night at all. The room was $375. I feel like something needs to be done. Although, the location is great in Key West. The front desk staff were all nice. Perhaps if you book a room in the back it may be better? Not sure.
