Insufficient air conditioning Only 1 room had air conditioning insufficient to cool the entire unit. Great location, close to 2 different beaches, hiking, and shopping. We saw turtles and surfers!

Surprise stay from many povs Can be a wonderful depending on which unit you get. The prices are a surprise and can be unpleasant due to the many additional charges and taxes

Big Mess There was no one there to check me in, and it took me 30 minutes to figure out how to get the room key from the lockbox. The worst part was that the instructions for accessing the room were distorted, cumbersome, and incomprehensible. I was told to get the keys from the lockbox in front of the room. If I had known it would be such a hassle to check in, I would not have booked the hotel. I booked over the phone, and the quoted amount was lower than what I ended up paying. The resort fee only included the swimming pool and nothing else. Unexpected charges of $100 each appeared on my credit card on multiple days. When I called the hotel, they said their system was down and promised to call me back, but no one did, leaving me anxious. I will never return to this place. While the location and room were great, the service was terrible. No additional pillows were provided, and there was an extra charge for everything, even an additional fan. The AC was only in one room, and if you asked for another, there was an additional charge. I went to celebrate my child's birthday, but they had to sleep without AC.I booked two bedroom but ac is only in one. This place is not worth the price .

First time as a tourist on Kauai We loved the spacious 1 bedroom condo and it was an easy walk to the beach. We would come again. As returning visiting former residents we wanted to feel like locals rather than tourists.

A good location with excellent service As others have noted, the units are dated, so don't expect "brand new". There is only a portable A/C in the bedroom, but it worked fine and kept our sleeping area comfortably cool. We were impressed with how well equipped the kitchen was--we mainly cooked our own meals while there, and there were plenty of pots and pans, accessories, dishware, glassware, etc. I'm sure many have had the experience of having maintenance issues, calling the front desk, and being told "we'll send someone" only to wait hours or even days for service--that's NOT this place. We had some TV and internet issues, and after calling the front desk, someone was at our door within MINUTES!! Problems were addressed and worked fine for the rest of our stay. Speaking of the front desk, the front desk staff were fantastic!! Mae and Kaysha were always ready with a smile and a happy greeting, and Mae especially really knows the island and gave us many excellent recommendations for trips, hikes, eating places, etc. It's a short walk from the resort to Poipu Beach, which is lovely and has the added feature of having sea turtles coming in to rest in the sand every night--fascinating! The Greenbelt that runs through the property make for an easy walk to the Grand Hyatt and other places. For those who want to play tennis (or pickleball), there are several courts and pick up games are easily arranged. All in all a most enjoyable time.
