Last minute stay We were traveling to Atlanta when we had a vehicle accident. We had to detour our trip and stay at this hotel. We checked in at midnight and we were greeted with such kindness. The hotel only had one room available which was a suite but they gave us standard rate which was so helpful. We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Rick, the owner is very kind. There is a Longhorn 5 minutes away and a Chick-Fil-A right across the way. This is a good hotel for this area.

Not my favorite HIE. On the surface the room appeared to be neat and clean. But, upon closer inspection the carpet had stains and the bathroom wall had stains. I had to request a new shower curtain liner due to the one in place having stains and moldy areas. The elevator floor needed to be mopped as well as wiping down the walls. It appears as if the housekeeping staff just do a hit & miss cleaning job. I’m sure there is not enough staff to do an adequate job. The location of the hotel met our needs. You are in walking distance of two restaurants.

Very nice stay Enjoyed my recent stay at this hotel located just off I-85 in Lavonia, Georgia. I was part of a the Trailblaze Challenge group staying at the hotel., Very friendly and hospitable staff at the desk and the hard working breakfast attendant all had big smiles and were very friendly. Special kudos to Chan who was working the desk, management should pass on my appreciation to her. Guest room 225 was spotless clean. A large bathroom and large vanity. Amenities are large size mounted on wall by sink and in shower surround. One negative for me was the tub shower and it was slippery. Happy there was a grab bar. I asked the night audit person for a room refresh as we departed very early and was happy to have it completed by my return in the evening. He told me they do housekeeping every other day but would do his best to insure a room refresh. Mission accomplished! Some of the other hotel brands can learn from the Holiday Inn Express breakfast. I love the pancake machine and the cinnamon buns are so good. Excellent buffet. Coffee is available all day. The breakfast attendant was very friendly and hard working insuring the buffet was stocked and well maintained. A very nice stay. I do recommend.

Where's The Breakfast?? Overall, this is a good hotel, room was clean and comfortable, staff was nice. Coffee was good. My only gripe was with the breakfast; it was the skimpiest breakfast I've ever had at any HIE. One egg choice (usually egg white omelet), one meat choice (usually turkey sausage). No biscuits, gravy or potatoes. No milk in cartons, only a pitcher. No yogurt. We ended up having to go to a nearby fast food restaurant for breakfast. I've stayed at several other HIE hotels after my Lavonia stay and they ALL had much better breakfasts than this one!!!!

Just Perfect!! I’d you’re a tired weary traveler or in town to visit your college child or a sporting game, you can’t go wrong staying here. Hotel is a quick <30 minute drive to Anderson and Clemson Universities. Property is immaculately maintained inside and out. Staff was extremely courteous (as one would come to expect from Southern Hospitality in the US) and always greeted with a smile. Our room was in pristine condition upon arrival. Sorry for the “slept in” pictures, but my brain wasn’t quite focused on that at checkin. Linens were crisp and fresh, bed made to perfection. After a long day driving then sitting on metal bleachers watching a college soccer game in the cold, the bed was by far the most perfect thing to crawl into at the end of the day! Super comfy sheets and a bed you could just sink into. Mother said they were too soft (if that’s even a possible thing, she could sleep comfortably on a boulder.) As with HIE Hotels complimentary breakfast was served. A bit less than some other locations I’ve stayed in but still the spread of eggs, bacon and sausages. Cold cereals, oatmeal, and those gooey cinnamon buns (yum!). Various breads, muffins, pastry’s, and that nifty pancake machine, which is a joy in seeing the amazement in little kids eyes as they magically get a pancake. They have a little sundries shop with snacks and sodas. If you forgot some of the basics (toothbrush/paste or razor) you can get these at the front desk. Great lobby to sit in especially if you happen to get up early and don’t want to disturb others in your room. They have an indoor pool, business center, and conference room available. A perfect place to stay. Now I just need to find out how to buy a set of those bed sheets, they were absolutely the best I have slept on in a very long time.
