Post-Covid-Disaster
Post Pandemic Disaster I am a pre-Covid frequent traveler and I have never experienced this type of poor service. 1) Was told I could possibly check-in early since I was traveling for over 10 hours and had a virtual business meeting. I arrive at the hotel having to walk in a side door because the front is under construction. Spoke to the General Manager who informed me I could not check in early, but that she would notify me once the room was ready. At 3:15 after completing my meeting in the car I called to check on the status of my check-in no longer early - Spoke to the GM again who said she would check and hung up after keeping me holding for 20 min - she had my phone number but didn't call to apologize for hanging up on me or to provide an update. An hour later I get a message that my room is ready. We check in and then we come up to the room - 1) there are only two sets of towels for the four registered guests, 2) the room smelled musty, 3) the pullout bed had no sheets 4) the TV went out every 5 minutes 5) one trash can and no housekeeping service so we were required to become housekeepers 6) no phone in the room to request services so I had to go downstairs or run into the housekeeping staff and of course none of the other advertised amenities. That included a real breakfast including coffee and juice, no pool access, no exercise room and the lack continues. Honestly, we would have been ok if only the pool and exercise room were compromised as a result of Covid. I would not have felt that I was overcharged and very disappointed because of the poor customer service. I had to take out my own trash, request towels daily and suffer through the poor options provided for breakfast. THIS FACILITY HAS USED THE COVID PROTOCOLS AS AN EXCUSE, Marriott values suggest using them as an opportunity. I certainly hope this is not becoming the trend. If the advertised services were not going to be available, we should have been notified and provided a discount. This did not occur and for that I am rethinking my loyalty as a Bonvoy member.

Construction Site I’m not sure how they are operating for guests without code violations. There is no flooring, only one working elevator, and plastic dust draping everywhere. The main lobby entrance is closed because of exterior construction. You have to enter through a random side door. As a solo female traveler, this made me feel uncomfortable. I called ahead to let them know I’d be arriving late and make sure my room was in order and the gentleman just chuckled and said, “ok, see you soon” without taking my information. He was helpful and polite when I checked in, but was also literally in his pjs! The first room was dirty and had a live roach in the tub. I was given a new room which was upgraded to a suite. It was clean, but still in need of final construction finishes. Electrical plates were missing. In the morning, I nearly got hit by a construction worker carrying a pile of metal strips as he came out from behind the dust drapes. They need to be closed to guests or clearly state the conditions and offer a discounted rate. Charging full price for staying in a construction site is ridiculous.

Worst Stay Ever This was the worst stay I ever had at a Fairfield Inn and Suites. Stayed in room 407 on March 30. Booked King room- was put in Queen, said all king rooms were booked. Room was nasty, hair and bandaid left from previous people. 1 bed wasn’t made, Something very sticky on night stand. Tub had hair and trash in it. Couldn’t even get any ice( maybe because of Covid, not sure). I have never had a stay so bad. Talked with desk clerk at checkout. He told me to have a nice day. When you spend over $100 to stay somewhere, I would expect it to not be a Motel 6, and need to leave the lights on!

Bad experience here Had reservations at this hotel, called 45 mins before I arrived to confirm my reservation, I was informed that because I had a discounted rate & they were sold out for the night that I would be getting a room without a working tv. Get here to check in & now they are sold out! Management didn’t offer to relocate for the inconvenience just told me that I could come back & check in tomorrow because I had a 4day reservation, not sure why they would even think I’d want to come back after not being able to get a room. So my advice to anyone, book full price regular rate or you will be treated the same as I was.
