An Amazing and Pleasant Surprise We were traveling back from a race in Mexico and looking for a clean place to lay our heads on our long drive home. Having spent some time on the road, I will frequently call the hotel (directly) to negotiate the best rate possible after doing my research on Expedia. I was immediately surprised at the willingness of the manager to accomodate my request and even more delighted when I arrived at the hotel. The manager was so friendly. I didn't know or trust the "Knights Inn" brand so I was a bit skeptical, but he graciously let me see the room before checking us in. It was spacious, clean, and just what we needed. To top it off, they even served a modest breakfast. It's not the four seasons with plush towels and luxurious soaps, but if what you're looking for is a modest, safe, and clean place, I would highly recommend this hotel.

If you don't mind old stuff, no amenities and no service, you get a clean bed for a lot of your money. We booked this place based on review, "If you don't mind older stuff, you get a lot for your money". They DO NOT provide the following: Tissues, hotel guide, or bathroom toiletries (with the exception of one half used bottle of shampoo that was never replenished). They did have a kitchenette, but no plates, flatware, pots/pans or drink ware. On arrival and check-in, we were asked to pay up front and then put down a $25 security deposit. We were told that it would be refunded in 72 hours, Our room was just around the corner from the office as we requested but we found that parking near your room door was limited due to all the pickup trucks parked there. There was only one handicap space and it was next to the steps. This appears to be a place where road crews stay. For recreation these men appear to enjoy hanging out on the upper level outside their rooms, smoking and drinking. It appeared that a working girl or two visited them as well. Some of the pictures posted by former guests are quite accurate. Things are old and out dated, but appeared quite clean. Issues do remain, such as our toilet was not fastened to the floor, so after using it and you leaned to the side to clean yourself, so leaned the toilet. They advertised a pool, but on a visit to it, we found plenty of empty beer cans and bottles. The only thing maid service did was to make the bed and replace the towels. They also replaced the coffee and sugar. Coffee for a 4 cup coffee maker and sweetener for ONE cup of coffee. No cups for the bathroom. I left the coffee pot sitting on the counter and the filter basket open. Maid service closed the basket with the old grounds still in it, and placed the dirty pot back on the warmer plate. They say they offer a free breakfast, but what we found was that they offer oatmeal packets, cold cereal, danish/muffins, coffee & juice. I am a Wyndham Rewards member, but if this is representative of what theirs hotels have come to be, I'll leave the group.

Thanksgiving Break I selected this hotel because it offered a inn with a kitchenette at a reasonable price. I arrived at time for check-in and was charged an additional $20 fee, which I was told would be refunded on checkout; it's February and still have not seen that returned deposit. The room was decent, very nice-sized kitchen area to work my magic for Thanksgiving dinner. My son works in Marshall and could not make it to Louisiana for the holiday. The oven worked just fine, however the range top did not. One call to the front desk and it was easily remedied. The microwave, well that's a different story. It was a no-go, and was told as such when the stove was repaired. "It's kinda one or the other around here" the guy offered up. I left my can opener and easily found a Family Dollar a quick dive away. Ordered from the Waffle House which is right next door, most expensive and worthless meal I've had in quite some time. Comfy and clean beds, moderate appliances, and good place to stay if you want to feel safe while saving money. Not a lot of traffic flowing through. I say several groups of people while there, but absolutely no noise or traffic like many establishments during the holidays.

If you don't mind older stuff, you get a lot for the money There's no question about it - you get a lot for the money at Knights Inn in Longview, Tx. PROS: There is a spacious living room, a small kitchen, a spacious bedroom, and a bathroom. Also, you could sleep 2 additional people on the sleeper sofa. You can easily pay 2 or 3 times the rate and get less. CONS: The room is extremely updated. I had to put the hooks back into both the front and back curtains, a cable cord was just hanging loosely in the corner by the door, as if it was run from the room above us - no effort to clamp it to the wall or hide it in any way.... The couch and chair were very old. Carpet also old. The room must have had smokers in it at some point, because it had a strange smell. We understand that updating costs money, and this hotel was not very busy. But, a few things could be taken care of. The bathroom setup was very strange too. The toilet was so close to the wall, with the TP holder on the same wall, that you nearly knock off the paper, trying to sit down. The carpet and upholstery both have cigarette burns in them. The kitchen laminate was either cracked, bubbling or broken off. The drawers in the kitchen were either askew, wouldn't close, or were just yucky. I wouldn't dare use this kitchen, except for the mini-fridge. It was clean and usable. Breakfast: consisted of cheap sweet rolls, cut in half, and coffee.

Nice place This inn was very nice to stay in. I especially enjoyed the cleanliness of it. Whatever we needed it was provided, the housekeeping staff is efficient and thorough in their job. Located in a good area to be able to navigate the Longview TX area and return at night. Above all, I traveled with 2 other females and we felt safe at all times
