Returned and the same as the last time.. A very clean, easy to get too, friendly staffed, fair priced hotel. It is situated near a nice residential neighborhood, so going out for a run is a pleasant experience (not worrying about dodging cars, busy streets, etc.). Nice little indoor poor and basic but plentiful breakfast.

Great staff, poor rooms The first room I was given smelled musky and the heater was set to 83, in a sumer month. The second room was better, but still not good. The shower was rusted all over and dirty. The shower curtain did not go down to the floor so the bathroom flooded every time I took a shower. There were bugs walking on the ceiling. Also, if you stay on a weekend night, expect loud music across the parking lot as the bar has an outdoor band that plays late. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. The only positive thing about this hotel is the front desk staff, very nice.

Failing to Rise to the Occasion My email to the Asst GM of the hotel: I consider myself to be a reasonable person. I am also an experienced traveler and business person. So I know that stuff happens. Even really inconvenient stuff like a busted hot water system at a really inconvenient time like the start of a three day weekend which is also the start of the traditional summer travel season and in particular the post-pandemic travel season. The question is not whether stuff will happen. The question is how individuals and organizations respond when the inevitable happens. In my opinion, you, your hotel and the Marriott organization failed completely and spectacularly in responding to the hot water situation. For a company supposedly in the hospitality business you displayed a shocking lack of concern for your customers' welfare, to say nothing of their comfort and convenience. I'm not even in your business and I quickly thought of at least 4 or 5 things you (the organization) could have done to ease the burden on your inconvenienced customers. All would have taken a little time and effort but only one would have cost more than a minimal amount of money. That you did none of these things and chose to give your customers a choice between scrambling on their own for alternatives at the very last minute on one of the most high demand weekends of the year or staying at the hotel for the same price as if you actually had hot water is incomprehensible. I find your justification for this, that you informed us of the situation, to be breathtakingly arrogant and not all that different from outright consumer fraud. What kind of value proposition do you think you are offering to your customers by charging the same amount for a room with no hot water as for a room with hot water? Do you think those rooms are of equal value? Being an experienced traveler and business person, I know that we live in a cynical age. So let me be clear that I am neither angling for compensation in any form, positioning myself to pursue some kind of lawsuit nor theatrically threatening to never stay at a Marriott again. I am writing to express my disappointment and anger over how I (and others) have been treated and to say that I will now be a little less loyal to the Marriott chain and will make less of an effort to insure that I always stay at Marriotts if possible, as I have been doing for many years. I note the particular irony of Marriott spending the past fifteen months sending innumerable emails assuring me of their concern and offering me all kinds of "deals" to entice me to travel yet failing to make the slightest effort on my behalf when it actually mattered.

Avoid on weekends at all costs The restaurant across the parking lot has cover bands blaring music every Friday and Saturday night... in the adjacent parking lot!! They’re not very good, either. If you plan to be in your room from 8pm to midnight, avoid this hotel at all costs.

Disappointed We have stayed here several times on our way home from a late JFK arrival and have been very pleased in every way. On this stay our room didn’t seem as well maintained as in the past, especially the bathroom. A few things need to be fixed and it needs a deep clean (in the corners). It wasn’t terrible but could be better. Bathroom light switch was cracked, corners had build up dust and dirt, the frame around the mirror had something dried in the design.
