Great hotle We had a lovely day yesterday at our family’s wedding… thank you to Ali and Susie great members of your hotle . Our room for the night was lovely and clean a bit outdated but was nice . Breakfast in the morning was really lovely

Generally decent venue for functions Been here once or twice for work conferences and been generally impressed, but this time stayed here after a function and was mainly not bad. The function itself was fantastic and I thought food was great although the bar was incredibly pricey. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The room was ok - nothing special and everything just felt a bit dated in there, but the bed was huge and comfortable and it was clean. My main issue was the noise - my friend and her son were in next room and we could both hear each other clearly but the worse thing was a 7 o'clock in the morning one of the other guests standing right outside my room having a loud phone conversation in Chinese. Not the fault of the hotel of course, but it woke me up after a late night and I was not impressed - so would be good if there was some better sound proofing on the rooms. But overall not too bad at all and wish I'd had a chance to try the pool out in the morning but maybe next time! Wouldn't necessarily pick here to stay just for a trip away, but for a function or stayover it's fine.

Bad customer service and parking charges I wasn’t initially planning to write a review, as our overall trip was enjoyable and the hotel’s amenities were quite good. However, my experience with the reception staff and a subsequent parking fine have left me very disappointed. When we arrived at 3 p.m., the advertised check-in time, we were told our room wasn’t ready. We ended up waiting over an hour and a half without any clear communication or updates. Each time we asked for information, we were told simply that the previous guests had checked out late. The staff’s attitude was very dismissive, and whenever we raised a query, the standard response was that “nothing can be done because you booked through a third party.” We were asked to wait in the nearby restaurant, but even when our room was eventually ready, no one came to inform us—despite having told us exactly where to wait. There was also no mention at all about registering our car for parking at check-in. Later that evening, when we returned from dinner, we asked about parking and were told to enter our car details, which we did. Yet, nearly a month after returning home, we received a £100 parking fine for the earlier hours before we had registered the car—something we were never informed about on arrival. When I called the hotel, they seemed very familiar with this issue and gave me an email address to request a cancellation. Judging by other reviews mentioning similar parking fines, this appears to be an ongoing problem. The hotel really needs to ensure that reception staff proactively inform all guests about parking registration on arrival. We had come to celebrate a birthday, but this experience has left a sour taste. Sadly, despite the nice setting and amenities, we will not be recommending this hotel to others.

Recieved parking fine whilst at an event. No signs inside event building Please be aware that when attending events you must put your car reg details in reception. With events coming up over Christmas etc you must be careful. I haven't been there for many years and did not realise and got a fine £100 notice I contacted the front office who sent parking firm a request to revoke as I was a guest. THERE ARE NO SIGNS IN THE EVENTS BUILDING! I also appealed with the parking firm to stop the process until they can review the email sent by Mecure. I hope this works. Front desk Tia was lovely and very understanding. I don't know why Great Danes have got a parking firm in place the hotel is miles away from anywhere! Fingers crossed I hopefully be ok.

DONT COME AT WEEKENDS IF YOU WANT REST AND SLEEP. Arrived around 5 booked in no problem. Came into room clean but very dated and bathroom is something like the back of the 80s! Its very small in theres no handles and you hit your feet in the toilet. NO HOT WATER Luke warm at best went to reception and was basically told oh well we might get more complaints tonight no sorry or in any way they can help.. staff seem very unfriendly apart from lady serving in restaurant. . There was 3 functions going on ,we should of been made aware of this as our room was on the first floor right above one of the parties so that's all we heard BOOM BOOM BOOM. Woke up this morning with a massive headache and still no HO T WATER. This was for our Anniversary and certainly wasn't a treat. We both very disappointed _.
