A nice relaxing night away from the kids. Me and my wife had a sunday to Monday stay for her birthday. (Using last year's buy a gift voucher.) Upon arrival we were greeted by Lisa. We informed her it was my wife's birthday weekend away. She very kindly upgraded our room. This room type included a nesspreso machine which is a small but nice touch. The hotel was in some loverly grounds, the restaurant food was very nice. The spa and gym facilities were ok. I have read some reviews about the swimming pool ceiling falling down. Well its not, it does require some attention but its deffently not falling down. The only issue with the spa is the saunas are in the differnt changing rooms. So men and woman separate. Which as a couple was quite annoying. However the jacuzzi was the hottest one I have been in at a spa. Which makes a nice change. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the reception and restaurant staff all very pleasant and most of all a very relaxing and clam atmosphere. All what you want when having a night away from the kids.

Horrible We attended a Christmas dinner with friends. The bar is horrible. Stained carpeting throughout, it was cold and I asked for a radiator to be turned on, was told it had been but it never came on. In fact no radiators seemed to be working. We had a Christmas dinner, ie turkey with all the 'trimmings'. One of the worst meals I've had. Half was cool, brussels sprouts were disgusting and obviously had been frozen. Sprouting brocolli was charred and virtually inedible, the gravy glutinous and tasteless. The turkey could have been cardboard from an Amazon delivery. The stuffing tasted very weird. The only thing that tasted of anything were the potatoes. Negligent and money for old rope! As to the hotel where we had booked a room; for disabled people this place is a nightmare. How on earth anything that seems relatively modern could have so many drawbacks is a mystery. For a start, the huge car park has just three disabled bays and of course, they are always full. There are no signs to indicate disabled access, every door is heavy and difficult (if not impossible without a companion) to get through. This is a hotel for reps or those who just want to get a cheap overnight on the way somewhere. It is best you eat out if you can, the food is atrocious. You might have a better stay if you got a tent and parked in a layby. Only one redeeming feature is the staff.

Enjoyable despite some faults! My wife and I arrived at the hotel to be greeted by some very friendly staff some dressed in fancy dress. The truth been know our room was a little shabby some paint peeling from the ceiling and parts of the carpet thread bare, the water pressure in the shower was awful. I only had one bad encounter with one of the bar staff who treated me like something she had scraped off the sole of her shoe just for requesting politely may I add a glass of ice, the rest of the staff were top notch. The breakfast was superb fresh hot and plenty of it…. Lisa the lady on reception checked us out and was very attentive friendly and approachable. I don’t want to be too judgemental as a friend stayed in another part of the hotel which he said had just been revamped so perhaps it’s an ongoing operation. Would I stay there again yes the staff and the service (apart from one individual) made it enjoyable despite some of it’s faults

Polite attentive staff Room was cold radiator behind long thick curtains so didn't heat the room. Staff were all very helpful and polite. Frankie who was working in the bar was very attentive and remembered our what we had previously ordered which made us feel she really paid attention. She kept herself busy tidying and cleaning in between serving, but did not keep waiting. She was talking and joking with all the customers regardless of age or gender

Friendly staff and a comfortable stay This was my first visit to the Mercure Hotel in Maidstone, the room was lovely and spacious and everything we needed. We then headed down to the bar where we were served by Frankie who was so charming, very efficient and knowledgeable with a friendly welcoming smile _
