Convenient for Leeds castle We stayed here during the recent hot weather and our room was absolutely boiling. There is air conditoning in the rest of the hotel (the corridors were cooler than our room) The walls are pretty thin and we could hear the couple next door talking and also their TV. The room was quite small which was ok as we were only staying for one night. it was quite difficult to find our room when we arrived as the signs are not that good. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

Sauna in the bathroom This hotel needs updating. Unfortunately we were at this hotel during the heatwave. The rooms were extremely hot (our room 120), with no air conditioning although a desk fan was available to cool down with in the room (not very good with the very hot weather we had). It was extremely difficult to sleep during the night due to the heat. The bathroom seemed even hotter still and remained very hot during our stay, it was like having our own sauna room. The room itself was very dated as was the bathroom but it was serviceable, clean and had a good bed although the furnishings were poor like the mirror which was held together with staples. There is a large screen tv but it is an older type and not a smart tv. None of the plugs in the room have usb connections. The hotel itself is not really near anywhere else so nowhere locally to see. It does have lovely grounds to walk around. Lovely space for weddings etc. The food was generally good here (not so good for vegetarians on a set menu as we are on our coach trip though as mainly a combination of pasta and tomato sauce) and especially the breakfast which had everything you needed. It was around £18 but when you compare with a breakfast most places which would be £10-£11, it was very good value if you include as much tea and toast as you want, as there was a good selection of hot food, plenty of cereals to choose from and various pastries etc. Staff here were excellent especially in the restaurant. I would give this hotel 2 stars but because of the excellent staff, great breakfast and comfy bed it gets 3 stars.

Afternoon Tea for Two. Had a lovely Afternoon Tea for Two. The food was excellent and just to our taste. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. We were shown to our table that was beautifully set ready for us. Special thanks to Susie who looked after us so well. She was extremely attentive and kept checking whether we needed anything. A wonderful experience in a lovely setting.
