My New Go To Place When Visiting Lake Placid Got this hotel because I was hiking up Mt. Marcy in Lake Placid. The hotels in Lake Placid were either poorly reviewed or crazy expensive, so I decided to get a room here and have a small drive before hiking. Must say I could not have been more impressed. Value for the money, this is the best place I have ever stayed. I don't have a single negative thing to say. This is the place I will be staying from now one very time I visit the area.

Very Nice Hotel In Town Great bed, very big TV, good TV station selection, good enough breakfast for a continental breakfast (but no eggs). Nice towels, no complaints except very slow internet. There's a Price Chopper supermarket within easy walking distance which was very convenient.

Surprisingly, a terrific place to stay! Red Roof? Who knew? Full transparency: Never in my adult life did I think I'd be leaving a positive review for a Red Roof Inn. We recently stayed here, opting for a plus (premium) room upgrade. Not only was it super clean and modern, but the bath towels were huge. The bathroom sink was a modern bowl on counter style. Beds were pretty comfortable, but a little on the firm side. There was an abundance of pillows, which made for a restful experience. The room was spacious and well equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, complimentary WIFI, etc. If anything was lacking it would be USB charging ports. So ensure that you bring your power cube. The bathroom had plenty of soap and towels, however there wasn't any conditioner. This wasn't a deal-breaker for me though, as I prefer my own brand of shampoos and also tote along my L'Occitane soaps wherever I travel. The heat and ac worked fine, but it's often nice to have an extra blanket handy. I'm sure they would have accommodated us, but in fairness, we didn't ask for one. The location is terrific. There's a Stewart's, Walgreen's and Jreck Subs in walking distance. Right off Main Street, it's an ideal location to just about anywhere in Malone. it's also a short drive from Owls Head, Mountain View. We would definitely stay here again. If you are looking for a nice clean hotel that is VERY INEXPENSIVE this one is it. We've tried a couple others before this and this is the unanimous favorite. I wish I had taken a few photographs, but we are rebooked again for our next trek to the area.
