Good Value, Very Clean We stayed at the Econo Lodge in Marion, Virginia for a couple of nights in July 2023. The hotel is dated, but well-maintained. Our King room was very clean. It had a couch, a refrigerator, and a microwave oven. We were placed on the back-side of the building, which seems to be the non-smoking section. We didn’t hear any highway noise, but we did hear the freight trains roll by at around 5:30 AM every morning. The back side of the building faces the train tracks, which are only about 450 feet away. The hotel serves coffee and packaged honey buns in a small dining area adjoining the front desk. There are numerous fast food restaurants serving breakfast near the hotel. We recommend this Econo Lodge for its good value and clean accommodations.

Good nights rest Very nice and clean. Older hotel but the room we had was well kept. Staff very accomading and friendly. Showed us the rooms for us to choose from. Breakfast was honey bun and coffee, which were very fresh.

WiFi had no Internet, hard bed, belongings wet by 2nd floor plumbing leak overnight Accessible single queen room had adequate space but the bed was hard, the WiFi didn't connect to Internet and there was no receptacle in the bathroom near the sink and mirror - there was one outside the bathroom where there was a shallow counter and another mirror. During the night there was a plumbing leak upstairs and in the morning water was dripping from the ceiling onto our belongings on the counter and the floor was wet. I asked if they would comp the room charge for the night for all the problems we had with the water but they only refunded 50%.

Updated, basic, clean, but slippery Stayed here in January 2022 on a cross-country business trip. It was a late night, and this place seemed like the best option for rest. Rooms are updated - hard floors, decent furnishings, and clean and comfortable. The only minor problem was the parking lot hadn't been plowed after a recent storm, and driving in was an unpredictable experience, snow got tromped into the room, and leaving the next day required patience, rocking the car, and very careful driving.

A Pleasant Surprise This is an older motel that has had some major renovations take place. From the outside you would think you might want to stay some place else. I made the mistake of requesting a reservation with smoking allowed. Young lady at the from desk let us have a smoke free room. Although the motel is old, the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the price is right! Not too mention great shower pressure! Ter motel is not the Ritz, but you can't beat the price. If you are looking for a decent place to sleep cheap, this is it! Only drawback was skimpy breakfast due to Covid. I would stay here again. It pays to be a Choice member.
