Great weekend stay in charming Middleton Whether you're heading to the Badger game or just spending some quiet time in Middleton, the Staybridge is a convenient place for both. Clean and quiet rooms with kitchenette and a full fridge. Minutes away on foot from a number of restaurants, coffee shops and bars, you can park your car and enjoy a nice getaway. I understand this place can fill up fast during sporting events or local conferences so keep that in mind when planning. Pandemic breakfast means coffee, juice, cold cereal, yogurt and packaged breakfast bars. Not bad but be on time because everything (coffee as well) gets taken up on the dot at 9:30. There is a small fitness center and a laundry room (free). There is a courtyard with seating and a grill. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean if not a tad tight with a king sized bed.

Clean hotel, nice staff, decent beds, in need of a refresh We have stayed at this property off and on for several years. First off-the positives. We like the availability of a two bedroom two bath suite with a kitchen and living area-which other area hotels do not offer. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The property is clean-as are the rooms-and the beds are comfortable. The not so positives: I had a tepid shower. Housekeeping did not come to our room -although to be fair, we did not specifically request it and I imagine that housekeeping staff members are hard to find. No biggie. The breakfast was not great. It was clear that all was prepackaged and frozen as I saw staff refill the serving bowls from the industrial food containers. The property looks as though it has seen better days. Carpet in the stairwell and the room was quite worn. A closet door in our room came off the track and had chipped paint. I think the hotel needs, as I indicated- a refresh or renovation. Again, though, it is clean and the staff is great.

Great location, spacious rooms, but some HVAC and hygiene issues Location was great, and staff was friendly. We booked a 2 bedroom suite for 5 people, and having that space plus 2 bathrooms was fantastic. However, for the amount we paid, there were some big problems. The air conditioning in the room did not work--we had it set low and the temperature never dropped, in fact, it went up over the night. We all had a hard time sleeping due to the heat. The other concern was that, although the suite looked pretty clean, there was black mold on the ceiling above one of the vanities. I would love to say we'd stay here again, but with those issues I'm just not sure.

disappointing in every way There is virtually nothing good I can say about my recent stay at the Staybridge Suites in Middleton, WI, other than the company was good and the location is great if downtown Middleton is your destination. Our “smoke-free” room stank of stale smoke. On both mornings, the hotel ran out of breakfast well before the “breakfast buffet” ended, including coffee(!) on the first morning. The front desk was unwilling to adjust our rate either for not being provided breakfast (3 out of the 4 of us were left hungry) or because there were fewer people staying in the room the second night. Explanation: “Breakfast is ‘complementary’ not ‘required.’” Our room was not serviced, nor were we notified it would not be or given the option to get service or not. The kitchenette cabinetry was broken. The garage keycard reader didn’t work and people trying to enter were locked out, as the sole staff person was “off taking care of other things.” The pantry was not stocked. The outdoor firepit, while provided with a full tank of propane, did not work. The stairway carpeting was filthy with stains and garbage. The front desk staff were surly. Bizarrely, there was no recycling!

Very average for the price We have stayed here before and were much less impressed than our last visit. The gripes: no bar soap in the room (was told due to covid), crumbs/sand on the couch upon arrival, previous tenants clothing size sticker still stuck to the couch, multiple holes/tears in the blankets for the pullout couch, microwave light did not work (nightlight for the kids), 12 inch strip of masking tape stuck to the inside of the shower curtain. To add insult to injury, both ends of the bottle opener were bent and wouldn't open our cold beer. The carpeting in the stairwell next to the elevator and the elevator floor were pretty dirty and gross. The praise: The breakfast selection was pretty good, plenty of grab and go items, snacks and traditional breakfast food. Bottom line, including taxes, at about $150/night I would not stay again at that rate.
