Lovely Historical Inn An unusual review, only because we did get to visit the facility but were unable to spend the night due to a facility computer error. The Inn computer recorded the wrong date for our date of arrival and were fully booked, which resulted in a double booking of the room. The staff of the facility worked hard to relocate us to a traditional hotel in the downtown area, without any additional cost. We were also invited to return the next morning for the buffet breakfast. The breakfast was exceptional and the surroundings in the dining room just lovely. Nikki the manager graciously gave us a gift certificate towards a future stay. Lovely buildings and look forward to a future stay. Service well deserved a AAA 4 Diamond rating!

A Hidden Gem Independent hotels can be a gamble, and this one paid off. Reasonable price, easy walk (less than 10 minutes) to Convention Center and downtown restaurants, impressive breakfast buffet with plenty of variety, friendly staff, free parking. Note that because this is a historic property, it is not ADA compliant. Even rooms on the first floor require navigating 2 steps into the front door. Upstairs carriage house rooms can be reached by a fascinating vintage elevator, but the balcony is a split level, so only Room 5 is a flat walk. Rooms 6 & 7 still require descending 6 stairs, once you get off elevator. Still, I will definitely stay here again. Room 7 has a queen bed, fireplace with gas logs, hardwood floors, decent-sized bath, and kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, Keurig, and assorted coffee pods that were re-stocked daily.

Outstanding hotel and the breakfast was to die for. Incredible spot in downtown Mobile. An exceptional property that has a friendly and welcoming staff. Plus the breakfast was truly incredible. My favorite - banana foster French toast. The chef and her staff were amazing. And the location of the hotel put you close to museums, restaurants and remarkable shops and homes. Don’t miss this hotel.

Charming and historical bed and breakfast We stayed here just one night for our anniversary at the tail end of a New Orleans trip. We appreciated the historical character of this quaint bed and breakfast. Our room was clean and charming, though temperature control was a bit challenging with the high ceilings. The bath robes were a nice touch. Breakfast was a delicious spread- especially the French toast! The staff and other guests were very friendly. My only complaint was that the front door to the house we were staying in was EXTREMELY hard to unlock. That could be a safety hazard and needs to be fixed. Other than that, we were very pleased. Offering the bar in the evening was a nice touch, but just be aware that it is not complimentary. We would stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Two night stay Some friends had visited Mobile, stayed here and said it was nice. We went for an Anniversary weekend and booked a second floor Queen room. When we checked-in we were give a first floor room, which I questioned. I was told the rooms were exactly the same just different floors so I said okay. While I'm sure they were the same, I'm equally sure on the second floor you don't hear the people above you tromping around (there is no third floor.) The property is a restored mansion and shows its age. One big disappointment was housekeeping. There was an ample staff, but it seems they just do a very so-so job. When hanging our clothes in the closet, my wife noticed two spider webs with fairly big spiders on them, We had a housekeeper remove them. As we were there we noticed that several places looked like it had been months since they were last cleaned - window ledges, bathroom tile floor and under the bed for example. The comp breakfast is good and we enjoyed talking to other guests. On our next visit to Mobile we wiill stay elsewhere.
