Unexpected Gem, Great Experience We were simply looking for a decent hotel near Monterey, CA for a one night stay, off season, for a romantic overnight getaway. This hotel turned out to be wonderful serendipity! First, the hotel was easy to find. Second, the delightful lady checking us in was most efficient, welcoming and had a great sense of humor too. Third, the room was easy to locate in the large complex with parking directly in front for security. Fourth, the hotel complex is located within a lovely forest and, although large, gives great peacefulness and privacy to each room. Fifth, instead of the ice and drink machines being remotely located in some unsafe, dark, out of the way location far from our room, fully operating machines were located within steps of each room throughout the complex. Sixth, the room was a surprise in several respects. The bed was unusually good and beautifully appointed with European bedding. The room was outstandingly clean and had a lovely balcony with two comfortable chairs. The glass door to the balcony was extra wide so you could leave it open and really bring the lovely fresh air from the outside into the room. The towels were extra thick and large. The was both a microwave and frig in the room and both were well above average quality and size. The TV channels included a channel guide and far more channels of programming than is usual in any hotels. Seventh, breakfast was provided in a lovely simple setting.

Don’t stay here This place smells like moth balls. For the price it’s an absolute dump. No amenities, water, or AC. It beats sleeping in my car. TripAdvisor needs me to type at least 200 characters so I’ll admit it has very high ceilings and the patio seems nice if you like staying at hotels so you can look at parking lots.

Clean, safe, and close to airport This hotel was within walkable distance from the airport. rooms were spacious clean and safe. Would recommend to anyone. it was a distance from sites but we were able to save a day on our rental car by walking to the airport the next day after an evening arrival.

Clean, Functional "Camp-Style" Hotel at a Reasonable Price The hotel is located within walking distance of the airport. Do note that there are really no restaurants or shops close by, and at night the streets around it are a bit dark. You check in at a very compact head house which also doubles as the breakfast area. The rooms are spread out amongst four two-story buildings. We had a room with two queen beds. It was sizable, functional and clean. The lighting was good with residential-style recessed lighting. The sink is outside the bathroom and the bathroom itself is quite big. Beds were comfortable. Do note that the rooms are not equipped with A/C but has a old-school style heater. Breakfast was ok ( in line with other Choice hotel properties). We found the front desk staff to be professional and friendly. Compared to other hotels in the area, we thought the rate was reasonable and overall the property offered good value for our family.

Check your bank statement after checking out! I’ve stayed at comfort inn (airport) several times. Never an issue. Stayed six nights, spent $970 late June. Looking at my bank statement afterwards saw an $80 dollar charge. Called inn and spoke to Sam, the manager, who I met previously and he’s always abrasive and rude. Sam informed me I was charged $80 for what they claim were 4 missing towels they allege or presumed I took! I never received a phone call to clarify this absurd accusation. Sam kept interrupting, didn’t AT ALL listen to my concern that I was wrongly charged this outrageous amount, $80 for 4 towels THAT I NEVER TOOK. After spending thousands of dollars there over the years without ONE incident I was bewildered that this occurred. Sam’s (manager) arbitrarily decided to steal $80 from me after I had been a loyal customer for years. Beware of that crook. Pat and Samantha who are staff are wonderful but Sam’s crudeness and disrespect, never having called me to declare what they assumed and to have a discussion simply used my card they had on file to rip me off for $80 for something I had ZERO to do with. A shame because I liked the location but will never stay one more night because of the manager’s abusive way of talking to me and deciding to dip into my bank account and help himself to a charge that had nothing to do with me.
