Roaches and Sewage in unclean room I booked to stay two nights and had live roaches in my room. I turned the oven on thinking that the led was broken. I get closer and there were live roaches INSIDE the oven’s LED screen. The kitchen towel had old food on it. The carpet was filthy and had not been vacuumed. There was old food stuck to the sofa. But oddly enough, the room smelled of some type of cleaner with bleach. I informed the desk worker whose name I forgot. But he was an African American male. He was very apologetic and assured me a manager would call. He assisting with finding another room at their “completely booked” location. I was moved to another room only for that room's bathroom toilet to be flooded before I even got into the room. There was water already puddled on the floor. There was a sloppy caulk job at the base of the toilet which was probably the cause of the leak. At this point, the guy who originally helped was gone home. A female answered the phone number on the office door. I was told that maintenance would have to be woken up and it seemed to be a problem to have someone come right then. Then she complained that she would have to wake up her manager as well. She made me feel like I was bothering her. I was so tired from not being able to sleep in the room from the paranoia that the roaches cause in the other room, I didn’t bother to argue with her. You would think that having sewage/toilet water risking my health, that they would send someone considering how I already have to worry about whether I’ll be taking roaches back to my home where I pay each month for pest control to make sure I don’t get them at home. I have called several times and reached out on social media and have never gotta a call back from a manager or customer relations. I was told that someone would be at the desk at 7 am. I waited until 7:30 am and no one opened the door to the main desk office. I needed to be at my event at 8 am so I could not wait. I called back that afternoon after 5 after I was free and was told that the manager doesn’t answer the phone after 5 and that someone would call me in the next two days . That was on July 31. Let’s not forget the way the smell of marijuana leaked into my room from someone else at the property, I probably got a contact high. It was just that strong. I have tried to get a resolution. This is unacceptable and it was a horrible experience. I would not recommend this location to anyone! This is not a fake review and I am convinced the people who gave this place high rating were either lucky and got a good room or it’s a fake review. This is real and those pictures are real. I have video as well. Horrible!!!!!

Hard pass My husband got a good deal on a two-night stay at the Sonesta. It’s about a 10-minute drive from downtown Montgomery. The first sign of trouble was when we entered the lobby to find a line of three or four people complaining that their key cards weren’t working. Hotel management knew about the problem and told us they had ordered new locks but who knows how long that will take. We also could not access our rooms using the first set of keys and had to have hotel staff redo the keys and help us get in. On a positive note, they gave us a free upgrade to a two-bedroom suite. Back in the day, this place was probably pleasant. The property has not aged well and there doesn’t seem to be much of an effort to keep it up. For example, the carpets in our rooms were filthy with multiple stains throughout. We went to a nearby fast food restaurant and had to use the drive through because the neighborhood is, according to the lady there, “not safe”. It was only then that we started reading the reviews of the hotel including one that talked about a shooting that happened nearby. We didn’t have any incidents while we were there, thankfully. We thought about going for a swim in the hotel pool, but it doesn’t look like it has been maintained or kept clean. The hotel also no longer provides a complimentary breakfast, only weak coffee. The front desk is not staffed during the night which is clearly an issue when their key cards don’t work well. In short, spend a little more money to stay at a place that has been maintained in a safer neighborhood.

Just say NO This place was absolutely icky!!! It was filthy from the parking lot to the stairwells (no elevator) to the carpets!! We stayed, since no refund was allowed. After an early car alarm, the night was quiet, and the bed surprisingly comfortable. I will add that the location was not great, as some reviews lead you to believe. It was pretty disgusting. We didn’t necessarily feel safe walking to and from our car.

Very Nice Stay I really had a nice stay here. The suites are nice without an exorbitant rent and everything was clean. It is pet-friendly and the people at the desk are very friendly. Very small workout facility, basically two cardio equipment machines. I'd stay here again on a future Montgomery visit for sure. Easy access to I-85.

Dirty The carpet was grossly filthy, it should be pulled up and replaced. The room was not clean. Mold in bathroom. One staff member promised things that he knew would not happen. He knew that it would get me through the night and he knew he was not working the next day and would not have to deal with me. One staff member was overwhelm with all of the complaints and seemed to have had a melt down. We were awaken in the middle of the night with complaints of noise when we were asleep couldn't have been us. I stayed there because I was near a family event and did not need to be in the room a long time. I had three rooms the other 2 were better. They had excellent free coffee. I left a box of about 75 K-cup coffee and about 50 creamers in the room on the kitchen counter. The manager came to the door to let us know of check out time, we talked for about 45 minutes, he knew I was headed to the other rooms to get my daughter, he cleaned the room, before I left I saw him, he passed right by me as I left my daughter room, he never told me that I had left anything. He did not seem to care bout how bad the room was. He made a comment that they were aware of the condition of the carpet and just did seem to care that I was upset about it. The staff member that took me to the room also took pictures. I do have his name just won't list it here.
