Very comfortable accomodations The unit that we had was dated, but clean and comfortable. The sofa and love seat were very comfortable, as was the bed. If you are looking for posh, this isn't it, but it was definitely serviceable. I did not have the opportunity to play the golf course, but it looked to be well maintained. There is a pretty good size exercise building with a variety of equipment.

BETTER THAN A TENT IN THE RAIN! NOTHING WAS KEPT UP, FROM THE GOLF COURSE TO THE ROOMS TO THE SUNKEN DRIVEWAY AND PARKING LOT. 4 PEOPLE, 2 ROOMS, 1 KING BED AND WE GET 2 SEPARATE SINGLES. SAME FAMILY, 2 VEHICLES, ONLY ONE CAN PARK BY THE CONDO. THE OTHER IS DOWN THE HILL IN ANOTER PARKING LOT THAT YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR GOLFERS TO HIT BEFORE YOU EVEN CAN GET TO YOUR CAR. TAKE OUT YOUR OWN GARBAGE, UNMAKE YOUR BED BEFORE YOU LEAVE AND PUT SHEETS IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM. STAKE AND RUN THE DISH WASHER, OK NO PROBLEM. CABINETS, TOILET SEATS, CARPET, DRAWERS, WINDOWS AND DOORS IN ROUGH SHAPE, DOORS ALL STICK, DRAWERS READY TO FALL APART. WOOD STICKS TO LOCK THE SLIDING DOORS AND ARE TOO SHORT BY ABOUT 2 INCHES. MUST WALK A QUARTER MILE TO THE GYM. I WOULD NOT HAVE EVEN WRITTEN THIS IF THEY HADN'T PRICE GOUGED AND CHARGED $325.00 A NIGHT FOR 4 NIGHTS. WV MOUNTAINEERS WERE PLAYING FOOTBALL. CHEAPEST PLACE TO STAY WAS THIS PLACE. NEVER AGAIN, EVER! ON TOP OF THAT, PAID FOR GOLF, TRIED TWICE TO RUN CARD, THEY CLAIMED IT WAS DENIED. TRIED ANOTHER CARD, WENT THROUGH. FOUND OUT LATER BOTH CHARGES WENT THROUGH! HAD TO GET A CREDIT ON ONE. ONE STEP BETTER THAN A LEAKY TENT, BUT WAY CHEAPER TO CAMP! HAHA

Avoid this place Accommodations were over priced, facilities haven’t been updated in years, and golf course and grounds haven’t been kept up. Staff were friendly and doing the best they could considering the horrible management. This used to be a beautiful resort and I was shocked at how run down it was.

Attractive resort. Very clean but needs maintenance. In beautiful area. We chose this resort for the location in West Virginia, not the golfing. Our condo was very clean. Towels were better than what we have at home, as my husband reminded me.This made it easier to notice that the resort has a lot of deferred maintanence. The condo had some walls with picture hangers, but no pictures. There was a counter-top microwave with a wonky shut button that replaced a wall hung microwave. We know there had been a microwave over the range because there was a hole in the ceiling with electrical cords pushed up into it, and the walls were not painted where the microwave had once been. Many outlet covers were slightly smaller than the hole they covered. A toilet roll holder had been pulled from one wall and the area just spackled over and the toilet paper roll just on the counter. Probably came off when someone used the holder to help them get up from the very low toilet. Outside, you can see that a lot of maintanence has been deferred as well.Banisters not completed, roofs covered in moss. Decking needing sealant. I will say that the golf course was VERY WELL maintained. Constant grooming and watering. Keep in mind that you are in a beautiful part of West Virginia where nothing is level. This means lots of up hill and down walking, and parking your car can be a challenge because if you go too far your car will be tipping dangerously. The resort is attractively designed and close to major highways. We would use this resort again, as it is close to relatives, beautiful nature, and great history.

VERY disappointing golf outing with 18 people and don't expect that they will honor any contract you have with them. I booked this resort for our golf outing with 18 people as we had been here before back in 2011 through 2019. We stopped coming here as the rooms got really dated and were not kept up at all. I heard they had renovated it so I called the resort to find out what they did.. When I called the resort I was transferred to Larry who gave me all the information about the package and answered questions I had about the resort. He assured me that the resort was undergoing a renovation of the rooms and we would all be located in those. I also requested that all of our golf ( 3 days of golf) would be at the main Lakeview golf course and not at their other course called Mountain view. He sent me a contract which indicated all our golf was to be at Lakeview and I guaranteed him we would have at least 22 room nights. We ended up with 25 but they did not honor their commitments on the golf and on Friday we were forced to play the Mountain view golf course which was horrible to say the least. The Greens were mostly burnt out and you were putting over dirt. The Sand traps were mud and dirt as well as most of the tee boxes. The fairways contained mostly weeds and burnt out grass. They offered us a $20 reduction in our package price which we felt was too low since we had the contract and they obviously violated it. They evidently had a large outing that morning that instead of teeing off at 8 or 9 am didn't tee off until 11:30 which meant we could not play the Lakeview course at our agreed upon 1:00 pm tee time. We also were not allowed to check in when we arrived. When we finally got back to the resort to check in the one desk clerk was very rude. Didn't get her name but she was heavy set and told us she had children when she wanted us all to line up for the one checkin station. Most of the rooms we were checked into were renovated (sort of) but we had NO hot water that night. No clock in the room and when you tried to call the front desk no one answered nor did the guest services number. No desk lamp and so the rooms were quite dark. Dinner was included and they did not have the buffet available so we all ate in the Legends restaurant. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Half the group wanted the buffet and the other half was very disappointed. Breakfast the next morning was to be a buffet and it was nothing like it used to be. I know things change but this was definitely for the worse. I also found out that about 1/3 of the rooms we occupied still did not have any hot water that morning. When I voiced the complaint at the desk they said they were working on it but no compensation was offered. Fortunately we were able to golf on the Lakeview course on both Saturday and Sunday and it was quite evident that they had not been maintaining this course as well as they used to. I understand the facility has changed ownership a few times and it certainly has not been for the better. Saturday they did have the buffet set up but it again was way different and they did not have the Prime rib carving station but just some plain chicken, spaghetti and meatballs with a vegetable and potatoes. I had asked to speak to the General Manager but he was supposedly not there or unavailable. This is not the way a resort should be operated and I feel sorry for anyone that has been here before and comes back again, like we did, as they will be highly disappointed as we were. If this will be your first visit, buyer beware, as it is NOT a 1st or even 2nd class resort anymore. They do have some great help, Courtney in the Bar and Alyssa in the Pro shop and at the snack shop. The golf Pro, Andy was also very nice as he did see that we had all of our proximity markers ready for us each day. They have a very convenient snack bar station on the 9th green/ 10th tee so you can grab a beverage and something to eat but it was not open on Saturday. They did open it on Sunday and Alyssa operated it and was very nice. It was one thing after another that was not provided as agreed or as discussed. It was very disappointing and I can't see that we would ever want to come back to this resort again. Buyers beware and check it out before you spend/waste your money on this facility
