A Newport News Gem Stayed in this hotel many times. The rooms are not huge, but they are very clean and the hotel is well managed. Right opposite a shopping mall and walking distance to restaurants. Only downside is the lack of breakfast staples because of Covid. I assume this is temporary. Cereal and toast and fruit are essential for early morning business travelers. Some hotels have found a way to provide this safely.

Worst hotel, cancelled reservations without notice even after having a bad fall outside I made reservations from 5/29-5/31, after being told that my room was confirmed, even after that weekend having rained all day and my husband having a bad FALL OUTSIDE THEIR PROPERTY, walking from the car to check in. They cancelled my reservation and the couple's in line before me without notice. Worst customer service and supposedly because they have a new 2 day new management with new rules, which gives you no reason to do that, i am extremely disgusted with their service, they didn't care that i had driven 9 hrs from NY to VA on a holiday weekend. This is unheard of, unethical, this puts them at a "0" customer service. Pick another hotel to stay at not this one, will not recommend. FYI: they didn't need my credit card when making reservation but when i went in they told that since i didn't give a credit card they had to cancel without notice. The same thing was done to the couple in line before me.

NIGHTMARE I recently stayed at the Comfort Inn in Newport News VA and although I don't have anything Bad to say about the hotel, I could go on and on Regarding the rudeness and Disrespectfulness of the Staff.. Unauthorized charges to my Credit card and just a overall bad experience. I've worked for Choice for Over 10 years and I have been to Hundreds of Choice hotels and I have never experienced anything like the Staff they have there.. Be Careful when Booking here. I would Suggest the Comfort Suites near the Airport if you're going to be in this area. Signed, Unsatisfied Customer

Needs Renovating Stayed here one night with my family while visiting Hampton University. Was able to check in early so that was a plus. The 2 bed double room was clean and a decent size. I didn’t realize I had booked a room with only a shower but that wasn’t a problem except for a little bit of mold in the cracks of the shower. Also, hotels want you to conserve towels, the problem is there was nowhere to hang them. The hotel needs to remove the pictures above the toilet and put up a towel rack. The closet door in the room was broken. Only one side was open and it couldn’t be moved. Also, we had to slam the bathroom door in order to close it which was very annoying. The complimentary hotel breakfast was great! Waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, cereal, fruit and pastries. The negative is you will freeze in the winter while trying to eat breakfast or sitting in the lobby. The breakfast sitting area is literally at the front door. It’s the first thing you see when you walk in. Tables to the left/right and a lounge area. I sat at a table closer to the food area so it wasn’t as cold. Others sat with their jackets on or went back up to their rooms. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It’s walking distance to a mall, restaurants and easy drive to Hampton. Overall the hotel staff were helpful and the cookies at the front desk in the evening were awesome too! If you want an inexpensive hotel it’s okay for one night but not more than that.

Awesome This has been one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. The breakfast lady was the best of all. I didn’t get her name but she is the one who made our stay great. Also the night audit girl who worked a 16hr shift one day had the best attitude even after working 16hrs. Thank you both ladies
