Great hotel Great hotel. Front desk personnel were very friendly and answered all of our question. Check-in and check-out were very easy. By chance our granddaughter and her college rowing teams were staying there also which is why we came to Oak Ridge, so we had a great time. Room was very quiet and everything worked well. The bed was very comfortable and clean. We definitely would stay there again if we were ever back in Oak Ridge.

Avoid this place! There were so many things about this stay that it is hard to know where to begin. I was in the area for a family emergency; a divorce and restraining order was going to be filed and I was there to be moral support AND in case the wife and children needed a safe place to escape to. Shelby and Dave at the front desk were great about taking the name of the mother in the event she needed to come there to hide out. As it turned out, she actually needed me to be able to go to her place. Since I'd booked on line, I was informed that I would need to pay the minimum of 3 days, even though I left after 2. I'd like to thank the management for their compassion. And to express my appreciation of that compassion, I'm going to post some unfortunate truths about this property. First, I chose this property because of the CLAIM of an outdoor pool because the eldest child likes to swim. That it was a low price was important because the frightened mother has a tight budget and that would matter if she needed to come there to stay. So...the pool. It was "closed". Hmmm. There was NO evidence of work being done on it and it was filled with filthy, brown water. Here's a thought...if you don't have an actual WORKING pool that people can use, don't advertise it. Second, the first room I was assigned had water leaking from the light fixture in the entry way and water all over the floor. Oops! On to a different room. Third, the room was on the 5th floor. It was hot as blazes. My friend who went with me has experience with AC units and opened the front of the unit and took out the FILTHY filter. Only then were we able to at least get the room to a tolerable temperature. Fourth, bathroom was quite interesting. We observed that the toilet was sitting at a slight angle. It became clear that since the clearance between the door and the toilet was about 1/4 inch with the toilet at that angle, it would simply have been impossible to close the door if the toilet was straight. The wall where the hairdryer was another joy - obviously the dryer had been replaced but hey...they didn't let a little thing like patching and paining the wall bother them! The tub itself was badly stained (there really are products that CAN clean that ugly brown stain) and with metal in my back, I like to soak. To get bath water, I had to run the bath and stay out of the way because the shower head leaked the entire time. Last, but not least was an interesting "cabinet" near the front of the room - a broken down piece of junk taken from somewhere else, patched with masking tape. On the positive side, Shelby and Dave at the front desk were friendly and capable. Shelby said she would ask if I could check out early when I needed to leave due to the family situation but apparently the answer was "no". After going to help my relative out, when I was able to return to a hotel a day later, you can bet I chose a different one! I highly recommend AGAINST staying at this place! I am attaching photos in the order of my comments. Enjoy!

You will be arrested if you check out less than an hour late. Only Stay at the Comfort Inn Rutgers Ave Oak Ridge, TN you want to get Arrested and Charged with Criminal Trespassing for checking out an hour late. I’m an RN and was traveling on business when I stayed at this hotel. March 5-9, 2024. I spoke with various staff through out the 4 days when leaving to work and returning each night. The last day, Saturday, I spoke with housekeeping at approximately 12:00 and explained I was running behind and would be out ASAP. Housekeeping said “OK”. I then received a call to my room, I answered and could hear them, but they didn’t say I word. I said hello again and nothing. They hung up the phone. I assumed they were confirming that I was up and moving. I then got in the shower. Then hotel staff repeatedly called my room and banged on the door harassing me. I could hear them yelling but not what they were saying - I was in the shower and had the vent running. At some point, they called the police who busted in my room door!! I wasn’t even an hour past check out time, 12:00, when this happened. They told the police I was 4 days past check out. My company stays with this hotel on a semi -regular basis. They had my credit card on file. There was no reason to call the police. I have never been so embarrassed and humiliated in my life. I was charged with criminal trespassing even after I explained I was not 4 days past due. I’ve had to retain an attorney for $2,000 and have to go to court as a result. Of course, the hotel also banned me from ever staying there again. That will not be a problem. Fortunately I had proof of my itinerary and receipt of payment. All charges were dropped 3/21/24. The hotel staff had no problem charging our card and including $150 for damages for busting in the door - the receipt was in my email within 30 minutes of my leaving the property. Corporate would only say that they contacted the property manager to make sure this wouldn’t happen to anyone else in the future, then happily asked me if I wanted to earn an extra 250 bonus points just by staying on the line and listening to their vacation options!!

Great, if You're willing to Accept Annoyances The first room I was given the toilet didn't work. In both rooms I was in only half the 30-some cable TV channels worked, the TV telling the user that the channels have a 'weak signal". Oddly (or perhaps not), FOX News was the ONLY channel in the building for which the volume didn't work. The rest of the hotel appears to be fine, if things like toilets and TVs working don't bother you.

Overcharged $1200 Please be careful with this hotel. I now have to dispute charges on my checking account.,I reserved with a card but switched to another card upon check in ( not knowing the “ card system was done and would be charged next day”) meanwhile charges went thru on original card. In attempts to fix it, the staff recharged me then again tried closing one reservation and rebooking. End result getting a pending charge including early cancellation fee pending ( amounting to $780 pending” and original $420 coming out on both cards. So while moving my account was short $1200 until this gets resolved I was told by manager and Choice up to 21 days! All this for a three night stay!
