Awesome spot for family vacation We just returned from a fabulous week at this resort and I just can’t say enough good things about it. It was our first time visiting Phoenix and we loved everything about this resort. It was clean. The staff was kind and helpful. The villa was spacious and the beds were very comfortable (and that’s rare)! The daily schedule of activities for kids was great - and to our surprise, everything was included. No special charges for the kids to paint magnets and coasters, create sand art vases, play candy bar bingo, etc. We have found that most of the times resorts try to squeeze every penny out of you and that was not the case here. Every day at 1 pm the staff even rounds the pool with a cooler of popsicles and hands them out to everyone - the kids and the adults. Simple, yet special. The amenities are top notch. The pools and hot tubs are awesome. Our kids loved splashing around in the water falls and playing water basketball. They even have a large storage box poolside filled with balls and pool toys. Especially helpful for those who fly into town. As a guest at this resort you also have access to the pools at the JW Marriott right across the street. It’s $10 to park there. We drove once but then realized how close it is and walked the other two times we went over to the JW. It took about 10 minutes to walk - easy and free. The pool there has a water slide (42” height requirement) and a fairly large lazy river. The grounds were beautiful. Definitely worth spending a pool day there. We spent one day at the Arizona Science Center. I recommend it if you are traveling with kids. Many neat interactive exhibits. Our kids learned and had a ton of fun too. We also did a day trip to the Grand Canyon. It took about 3 hours and 15 mins each way and was worth every single minute of drive time. It. Is. Amazing. Go!! And if you do, take the route through Sedona to get there. It adds about 15 minutes of drive time but it allows you to drive straight through the famous sites of Sedona and it was beautiful. We stopped a few times to take pictures and take in the red rock views. We considered a tour bus but for a family of five it would have cost nearly $1000. It was a pretty direct and easy drive and entrance to the park was only $35 per car. We left Phoenix super early in the morning, so no traffic and we got to the Grand Canyon before the mad rush for parking spots began. Lastly - we found three super restaurants near the resort that I want to recommend. For breakfast - Snooze was awesome. During our one week trip we went there three mornings (unheard of for our family as we typically like to try different places). Food is delicious and staff is so friendly and happy. Good kids menu, with reasonable prices. And if you drink coffee they will offer you one for the road when you pay your bill. For lunch or dinner - we loved Yard House. And for dinner - highly recommend The White Chocolate Grill. Save room for the white chocolate brownie for dessert. So good!! Enjoy this resort! It’s a great find!

Marriott canyon villas I am very disappointed in how Marriott is continuing to use COVID as an excuse to eliminate many of the amenities that we as ownership have paid for in our continuing increases in yearly maintenance fees. The date is June 20th 2021 and while AZ is wide open they continue to prevent you from enjoying the pool with floating devices using the insane reasoning that blowing up the tubes could transfer your breath/saliva into the tube and if it were to escape it could contaminate others in the pool. Are you serious? They just now closed the main pool because someone fell and might have had a few drops of blood fall into the pool. See the CDC recommendations on this in my photo!. The van that they used to have that piloted people to and from the JW Marriott is no longer available but you can drive there and pay a handsome parking fee. Really! Marriott is all about the bottom line and have raised prices at every opportunity available! So sad.

Week of relaxing and enjoying sun 3100 building, 1 bedroom overlooking the kid's pool. Was thinking it was going to be noisy with the kids but it was pretty quiet for the whole stay. Pleasantly surprised. Resort is update and modern; very clean and Arizona beautiful. We went the week before Memorial Day to avoid crowds and it was wonderful. Staff is exceedingly nice and welcoming without pushing their vacation properties too much, too. Highly recommended! Was just my husband and me, too. They had JUST changed their mask requirement to only if you weren't vaccinated, too.

Beautiful, well-maintained property If you are familiar with any of Marriott's Vacation Club properties, you know what you will get at Canyon Villas. The property consists of a variety of villas where, except for the one bedroom, you'll have a large family area, laundry facilities, an eating area and a full kitchen. The one bedroom is basically a hotel room with a fridge, microwave, sink and coffeemaker. All the rooms are very comfortable and well maintained. The property itself includes 2 large pool areas, hot tubs, a kiddie pool, a kids play area, an exercise room. There is a pool bar where light food is served but we saw no wait service as we've seen in other properties. Canyon Villas is part of the same complex as a giant JW Marriott Conference Center and Hotel and a golf course. Very close to a huge center featuring just about every retailer around and a number of good restaurants. If you like the villa concept, you will like it here.

Nice place! My husband and I were in Phoenix for a few days and we stayed here. Our intent was to stay here and enjoy some of the amenities rather than run around all day seeing things. Our villa was spacious with a full kitchen, dining area for 6, and a comfortable living area. The bathroom area was a little weird. The jet tub and a sink with vanity was just off the bedroom with no door and then a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink was in a separate room with a door. Both were spacious, just a little strange to us. The bedroom had a king bed and the living are had a sofa bed. The balcony was very big, complete with table and 4 chairs. The pool area was very nice, large and had alot of seating. There was a snack bar, water machine, at least two towel closets and pool equipment (ball for the net, noodles, etc) at the pool area. There seemed to be alot of activities at the property, whether the pool, pickleball court, volleyball court or classes in salsa making and much more. The golf course was right there. There was plenty of sidewalks in and around the resort for walkers or joggers. I wouldn't stay for one night. It's a resort, so enjoy it.
