Permanent remodel gone bad Worst night sleep. Sure, I was aware that the property was under a remodel, but that did not prepare me for the chaos. Apparently they were remodeling, but "are done for now". Wow, this place is special in all the wrong ways. The lobby is gutted and in a half state of redo. The common bathroom off of the pool area was a disaster with no soap or towels. One look at the pool and we decided there would be no swimming or soaking for us. They did attempt to redo this place ala boutique hotel, they put in a bunch of modular furniture in the rooms with luxury vinyl planking throughout. Hint, there is a reason that hotels use carpet throughout - to dampen the sound. This place just echoes and the sounds are amplified (kids, talking, and dogs barking at all hours). The mattresses were old and uncomfortable. The A/C units kind of worked but it was a hot/cold cycle through the night, never reaching a comfortable temperature. We couldn't use the light in the bathroom because the fan made a horrible banshee screeching. The back door of the hotel is broken, so there is no security. And it is definitely used as a long-term rental. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

You really do get what you pay for Overall: Remember the line 'you get what you pay for'? Well this place is true to that saying. It was a bargain. We booked it as it was close to the 'centre' of town, but when a town that is 2-3 miles long along one road, the term 'centre' is slightly irrelevant. Turns out 'most guests' are there for longer stays whilst working in the area or between homes. Reception: No complaints on arrival. We were shown to our room pretty quickly. We had a problem one evening using the electronic number pad to get back into our room which at 10pm at night was a royal PITA. We were then told the following morning that there was 'nothing wrong with the lock' which I am not sure is true. Room: See my comment in the first section. The room was perfectly fine but a bit odd in terms of layout. The bed was great but there was a whirlpool bath in the room plus a shower/bath combination and toilet in the bathroom but the sink was in a separate space by the small kitchen space where there was a microwave, a fridge freezer and a kitchen sink. Food: No food in the motel, but loads in the town. We had a great meal, albeit where the steaks were overcooked in Charlie Clark's Steakhouse but our favourite place was The Den, or The Lion's Den to give it its full name. Staff: Nothing to complain or write home about. The communication with staff was fine and all our questions were answered perfectly well. Return: Would I stay there again? Probably not.

Worst hotel experience ever I attempted to check in to this hotel and the there was no one at the front desk. I called and it took a long time to get service. When we did check in, Eddie the general manager showed me the room. It was awful. Have the lighting and electronics did not work. The wiring looked like a fire hazard. Once I complained to give a bad review he threatened to call the police. As I was going to bed I decided to find out when the police were to arrive so I was not disturbed. He claimed he did not call them but during the conversation he called them. The police arrived and confirmed we did nothing wrong and told me that this manager is known for calling them often. They told us to go back to the room and go to bed with no further contact with the manager.

Run don't walk away from this. My brother and sister in law made the mistake of staying here. The room looked like had not been cleaned in days, the towels and pillow cases when so dirty we gave them clean ones. It looked like they had started remodeling and just gave up before finishing.
