Nasty hotel nowhere NEAR LSU NASTY hotel—and in spite of the name it is across the river and nowhere NEAR LSU. In an obviously bad part of town. In addition: 1) the whole place smelled like cigarettes 2) No actual blanket on the bed 3) No phone in the room 4) No shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom 5) Water from the shower smelled terrible (definitely wasn’t going to drink it) 6) Room was in general dirty—it was clear it hasn’t been vacuumed or wiped clean.

1st experience of overbooking in the US We made a reservation at the beginning of April for 1 night, from June 11 to 12, 2022 in Baton Rouge, as part of a road trip in the South of the United States. Arrived at the hotel after a long day on the road, we were refused access to the establishment by the manager who barred the front door for us. Not understanding this absurd situation, the manager explains to us that no reservation in our name is registered. There follows a stormy explanation, reservation booking printed in hand, during which the manager does not change position. We quickly understand that this individual has overbooked (confirmed by his statements) and that our room was rebooked during the day... We left Baton Rouge and continued our journey to Lafayette... Accustomed to travel for many years, this is the first time that such a type of overbooking has happened to us. A shame for this type of establishment! To flee !

Actually minus 100 stars!! I booked a room in Nov 2021 for the Garth Brooks concert in April 2022. I went through Expedia to book it and had selected to pay at the hotel, reserved with a credit card hold. We were coming from Florida and about half way there my husband decided to call OYO to see what the latest checkin time was. Good thing he did because we were told the hotel property manager had canceled our reservation because the price was wrong on Expedia. No phone call in the 5 months of reservation to let me know this, no email, no contact at all from the hotel. They refused to honor the confirmation we had unless we paid an additional $300+ for the room. I’m sorry but this hotel was a 2 star, we only needed it to sleep and was not planning on being in the room much, and they are wanting $225 a night! After we found out they canceled the reservation, I received a email from Discover saying a charge was attempted and they denied the charge. Thank god for Discover! I am pretty sure they jacked their prices up because of all the festivals, LSU activities and the Garth Brooks concert. I will never book another room with them and I am reporting them to the BBB. OYO Port Allen is horrible and don’t waste you time with them because your reservation will be canceled the day your arriving with no notice to scam more mo ey from you!!!!

Worst experience ever Worst experience ever. Made a reservation through booking com, got confirmation email and a welcome email from the hotel. Then when I arrived after an 8 hour drive with 2 young children, they said "sorry we don't have a room". I claimed I had a booking and the lady said yes but more people came, it's a weekend. She assured I wouldn't be charged, but now I've spent hours on the phone trying to get the no-show fee reimbursed. And I had to drive around at 11 pm looking for a hotel. Don't waste your time and money!

Don't Put Your Family in Danger The "manager" broke in the room while my wife and I while we were sleeping naked. When we tried to talk to him, he ended up kicking both of us out and calling 911.He said he can do it because he is the manager. If you care of your family security for any reason stay here!!!!
