Worst motel, EVER!!!! I do a lot of travelling (mostly for work). I would confidently place this motel at the very top of the 'WORST MOTEL' list. This time I was travelling with my wife. We had our lab with us; so, we sought out a pet friendly motel. The reservation was made over six weeks prior to our arrival; yet, we were not allowed to check in 'til 3:15 PM (we arrived at 2:30 PM). Two highly incompetent girls struggled to get us checked-in. They had me sign three documents (one of which was tossed aside). Also, despite there being 'tow away' signs all over, one girl said "no" when I asked if they needed my car info. This made me nervous; so, I asked the night clerk if they needed it. He said "yes". So, I signed yet another document. I didn't know my way around Port Huron and I saw no available maps. The girls said they were all gone and no one would take the time to print one out for me. On day three, a 20 minute storm came through and knocked out some power. All power to our room was out (as of, at least 6:50 PM). Oddly, the hall lights and the front desk lights were on. I was told they are on two grids. ??? After several inquiries (and after almost three hours) the night clerk said the power might be off for about 48 hours). He said there would be NO difference in our bill if we left then (at around 10:00 PM) or the next morning. The next day, I also noticed there was no food for the so-called free breakfast AS ADVERTISED. We checked out a little after 7:00 AM. We were supposed to stay for five nights (this was the end of day three). We were charged the full rate for our dog ($75) although we were essentially forced to cut our stay short (why pay to stay in a room with no lights, no TV, no A/C and no fridge????). Also, NO credit was given for this lost day. Their excuse?? "It's weather related". Why pay to stay in a dark room when you can stay in you car for free? Baymont saved money on electricity and food; yet we received no credit for the major inconvenience. Nice, hmmm?? For a service-related business, they should always have a plan B for events such as this. After reading this, quite bluntly, you're a fool if you stay here, and you deserve what these people dish out. I'll be contacting the attorney general and consumer affairs. It might be interesting to know what the Baymont head honcho thinks of incompetents like this representing his business. By the way, the floor was filthy and the toilet tank ran, constantly.

Worst hotel I made my reservation weeks ago and called multiple times to confirm, all of which they only answered the phone one of those times. I drive 4 hours to this place today, get there, and they have my rooms listed as cancelled. I never once cancelled my trip, and it was in my name so nobody else could have done this. She rudely handed me my ID back and said “They’re listed as cancelled and I have no rooms available, sorry.” Thankfully I found a very friendly place that had the accommodations met for me. The location is also a bit weird. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid this place!!!

Run away don’t book it Omg this is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in pics online don’t do justice and the vacuum is left in the hallway with the cord across to possibly trip someone? No hot tub like pics showed room not accurate food all over hallways flies in pool area around towels that bathroom looks awful bandaids used and hair ties all over _ phone doesn’t work in room no dial tone but manager argued w me that it does _✌_and it says beachfront or waterfront noooo no it’s not haha! Bed is noisy and sounds like it’s gonna break. This place has potential but is the biggest crock of crap!

Rude and unhelpful workers Have you ever been given a dirty plunger by hotel staff to deal with plumbing yourself ? Have you ever witnessed a full grown adult woman be rude to a 9 year old ? if you enjoy things of this nature this hotel is for you . Bring your own towels because they sure will not provide them . Don't forget to bring a plunger otherwise they'll have you use their dirty one . it will take about 20 minutes to get checked in as the staff do not care about Snarky remarks, filthy hotel and everyone you come in contact with is rude and unhelpful . NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY

Beautiful town! Very conveniently located, clean and very friendly. The city is lovely beautiful downtown. The Lightship tour is a great attraction and very informative. The lighthouse is also interesting but there are 94 steps to climb!. The nearby Wills St. Claire auto museum is fantastic.
