Superb customer service We spent a night at the start of a vacation traveling around Maine. To my dismay, I discovered I could not find my hearing aids and had no idea how I had misplaced them. I assumed (hoped) that I had left them home. Ten days later, we returned home and they were not here. We called the hotel, hoping they were found. The housekeeping manager said my hearing aids were found and took the time to send them to me. I am impressed by the superb customer service.

Good Price- Okay Location Spent three nights at the Clarion in Portland while visiting family. Overall- very good. Chris at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. The room was large and clean and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was small and seemed a little worn down and the shower had not great pressure, but it was clean, and we were provided with new towels and toiletries upon request with no problem. Parking was plentiful and free and there is a free shuttle to the airport or bus station (which is very close by). This hotel is not walkable to the Old Port or downtown Portland, it's a short drive and we used Lyft with no problem. The upside of this is that is a less costly alternative. In the height of the summer season the downtown hotels are three times the cost of the Clarion. There is no free breakfast but there is an onsite restaurant with fairly good choices and prices, and you can get your breakfast to go. There is no dinner restaurant or bar in the hotel or nearby. This is a fine alternative to high priced downtown hotels as long as you don't have to be in the heart of the city.

Fantastic breakfast table service The Clarion is easily above average for hotel stays. The room was spacious and well-appointed, and everything worked properly. The view was good, and the room was quiet. The environmental controls worked well, and I was able to get the room nicely chilly, which is my preference and something a lot of hotels don't have proper equipment for. The best thing about my stay, however, was two of the staff. First was Mr. Clark at the front desk. Courteous, friendly, helpful. I was able to communicate some of my experience at the hotel with him, which centered largely on the other person of interest, whose name I never learned. She handled table service at the in-hotel breakfast spot during the week of June 10, and did so incredibly well. She is on the ball, sharp, fast, and a delight to deal with. Easily in among the best waitstaff I've ever experienced. Mr. Clark told me she's been with the hotel for a long time. I hope they're compensating her well for her absolutely top-notch service to Clarion customers.

Clarion Portland Not mad, just disappointed. Hotel is kind of like a rotting apple. Looks good from the outside, not so much inside. Check-in service was pretty much non-existent. No mention of the hold for incidentals (thats an obvious), didn't register the vehicle, and nothing about any hotel amenities. Room smelled of strong cleaner when we entered, and it was clean, to a point. Like just about every hotel in Maine, its old and dated, but some things could be easy fixed for esthetic reasons. There's was multiple drill holes in and around the bathroom for whatever reason. Mold in the bathroom. Rusted fixtures. There's zero sound proof, you can basically hear everything thats adjacent to your room. Not even a continental breakfast available here. I didn't care for the location in Portland personally, just got an ok room rate that night. One and done for us.

Very Nice! This hotel suited my needs very well. I needed a Park and Fly package close to the airport. My room was clean and comfortable. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. The airport shuttle ran on time. The only complaint I have is that the shuttle stops running at 10 pm and on my return I had to use a cab to get back to the hotel. Otherwise I would have rated this experience excellent.
