Great location for wandering around Portsmouth All around great choice, especially if one doesn’t have a car. We could easily walk all over town. The harbor was a block away. The rooms were spacious, and I particularly liked having a long counter in the bathroom on which to put all my sundries. Staff were friendly. We debated staying here, Wentworth by the Sea, or the AC Hotel, and think we made the right choice.

Great service, aging and outdated facilities First the good - service from restaurant, front desk and valet were excellent. Friendly welcoming staff. Now the bad: we were horrified at the condition of the hotel once you leave the lobby, consistent with so many other reviews. Elevators that looked like service elevators, stained carpets throughout hallways along with trash and dirty laundry. dingy unwelcoming decor and lighting - and to top it off there were mascara stains on my towels. Our room was very stale and stagnant when we came in. Hotel is in desperate need of updates. Too bad since Sheraton Portsmouth used to be highly regarded. Spend your $400 a night elsewhere nearby….

Wonderful Customer Service We arrived to the hotel after a 10 hour drive. My husband and I are both Marriott Bonvoy members, with him being Titanium Elite. We were staying on points--we had a pleasant check in--but we had a series of obstacles. First, the room that was given to us was occupied! (yikes! We didn't see anyone but luggage and shoes were still on the floor!). We went back downstairs and they were very apologetic. Our 2nd room only had a king bed--we needed an additional bed due to being joined by a daughter later in the trip. Our 3rd room was fine--but our keys kept not working and we had to run downstairs to get them re-set. The manager was fantastic. He comped our parking for our stay. We also had originally requested an upgrade but we arrived on a Friday and the hotel was booked solid, but they moved us into a Jr. Suite on Sunday night. They are also in the midst of a renovation--so the wallpaper was done on the walls but the rugs were "stuck in a container in NYC." Honestly, it was fine. I've read a lot of harsh reviews on about this hotel and I guess it really depends upon your expectations. My husband and I travel a LOT for work...so we know that there are sometimes things out of control of management. The beds were comfortable, the renovated rooms were awesome. And the hotel is in a great location with many, many restaurants in walking distance. Given that we are still in the midst of a pandemic, I think the hotel did awesome! Everyone and everywhere is understaffed right now so they are doing their best. Even the cleaning staff was awesome!

I Expected much more from a Sheraton club room I stayed on the club floor of the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel. The floor itself was dingy and dirty with stained carpets and what looked like drywall remnants on the carpet. The room on the club floor was not much better with stained carpets and mildew in the shower. We used the club facilities and it was extremely lacking. I am not sure if it is because they don't have enough staff or something else, but the club lounge was out of coffee and juice when we arrived and the breakfast options were dry eggs or overcooked oatmeal. I expected much more for the cost of this stay.

AWFUL!!! GROSS!!! We travel a lot and stay at many hotels. We only stayed 1 night got in late from NY. Lobby and outside looked nice. Step into elevator!! OMG it looked like a cargo elevator!! Hallway carpet stained and rooms were old and smelled. Room was $500 but unfortunately we used way too many points for the room!! Could have stayed in a Ritz for the same points!! Seriously Sheraton WAKE UP!!
