Rating Run by those who are foreigners. Questionable English skills. Maintenance/ cleaning have little understanding English language. Same bed spread; unchanged; sheets unchanged; Dirt in Ice. Chlorinated water. Expensive for what it offers.

Great place to stay On the outside it doesn't look fancy, and it's not, but we had a wonderful stay in probably the most comfortable hotel bed we've ever slept in (and literally every single hotel bed leaves me waking up hunched over in pain). Front desk staff were wonderful and accommodating. Hotel is close to everything, including a variety of eateries for every palate and budget. It's really a gem.

A blessing. I’m leaving this review early, because I genuinely can’t stop thinking about how outstandingly kind, exceedingly professional and immensely understanding the entire staff, but more specifically, the manager of the motel is. I am so thankful and grateful beyond words for her and her extraordinarily kindness bestowed upon me. I sometimes become quite forgetful and found myself in a very difficult situation recently regarding the forever love of my life, in which to whom my heart will always belong. With that said, her professionalism and utmost friendly care and understanding is something I will never forget. I told my Dad earlier when I was on the phone with him how much of a truly, absolute blessing it was when it came time for the delicious breakfast they kindly proved. That cereal and strawberry yogurt is immaculate. And I certainly love me some orange juice. It was splendid. Her job is managing this wonderfully delightful and cozy establishment, in which she irrefutably does a spectacularly impeccable job of doing. I want to thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for the provision of these overly tidy, consistently up kept and warm, spacious room in which you’ve provided, but most of all, the emotional comfort you’ve provided for me as well as the peace in my heart, as a result. I am so thankful for you, Miss. -Mark Stephen Asea

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE STAFF I was specifically looking for somewhere to stay that would take pets due to the fact that I have a new beagle puppy. My daughter and I chose this hotel, and it was a HUGE mostake! Yesterday my daughter wanted to go in the pool, so of course we took the dog with us. there were no signs in or around the pool area stating the dog couldn’t be in the pool area. As we were leaving the pool A front desk staff came to me and asked me if the dog went in the water I said no she said OK. The dog is not allowed to. I said, don’t worry he won’t and hasnt. Then she proceeded to tell me the dog couldn’t even be in the pool area at all. I was embarrassed and apologetic, she said it was Ok lets just make sure it doesn't happen again, she was very nice. the next morning (still half asleep) I go to get breakfast in the lobby and was immediately attacked by the property manager. The property manager started yelling at me telling me my dog was in the pool water and she’s kicking us out now. I was completely shocked. I told her I didn’t like her tone with me. She continued to yell at me. after that embarrassing altercation I go back to my room and call her over the phone because I was still in shock. I didn’t understand why the day before everything was OK with the front desk staff, and now the property manager the next morning is so aggressive. I started off the conversation with saying I apologize I just woke up. I was in shock and tried to explain that my dog wasn’t in the water. How do we fix this because our current living situation isn’t the best and I started to get emotional. The property manager then started to make fun of me because I was crying, adding at the end of the conversation” don’t try to cry now it’s too late you’re getting kicked out you gotta go!” Then she pursued to call the police on me as I was packing up my room to go. I have never been more embarrassed in my life. After speaking to Poughkeepsie police, they said the property manager does this ALL THE TIME! they CONSTANTLY kick people out for no reason. they said it’s a huge problem for them theyre always there and usually for nothing at all. The embarrassment was not worth the cheap room, but that behavior was completely uncalled for an inappropriate.

The price was right Thank you to Tripadvisor Plus for the discount. The hotel was a little further away from the Hyde Park highlights than I anticipated, but the discount made it right. We were upset at the first room we got because it had the smoky smell but they accommodated us and put us in a better room with the indoors entrance. The free breakfast was adequate. Staff was nice and the shower was good. We took advantage of the Poughkeepsie area and caught the Mill House Brewery, which was fine. You are about 12 minutes away from the Hyde Park FDR highlights.
