Wonderful Hotel We decided to spend the night in Princeton on the way to Kentucky. As a Hilton Honors member we stay at quite a few different Hampton Inns during the course of a year. This particular Hampton Inn stands out above most of the others. Their staff is above most others also and deserves special recognition.

NOTHING BUT GREAT! 5 stars! NOTHING BUT WONDERFUL! After reading reviews of many hotels in the Beckley/Princeton areas, we chose this Hampton Inn (and it was $40 cheaper per night than many others). We are Hilton Honors members but had looked at multiple hotel brands. While it might be slightly dated in a couple of areas, and none that really mattered, everything else was exceptional! Friendly woman at the desk for our near midnight check-in offering not only waters or soft drinks but a few snack options as well. Room was very clean, including the bathroom. Breakfast the next morning was above the standard Hampton in our opinion. And they had BACON! Every other Hampton we've stayed at (many) always had sausage. Offerings were cheese omelets, potatoes, standard waffles & blueberry waffles, oatmeal & cereal, bagels/toast & a couple pastries. Staff working was friendly and kept everything full & the areas clean. 5 stars for the Hampton Inn Princeton, WV! Thank you!

Give The Desk Attendant A Big Raise It seems that Hubby and I stayed here during a previous trip north or south, but there have been so many hotels that it's a blur. Regardless, this was an excellent choice for an overnight stay to break up 22 hours of interstate driving. It's a bit tricky finding the entrance after you exit I-77, but your GPS will get you there. The desk attendant was delightful. Very welcoming, an adept conversationalist, and all-around adorable. She ensured that we had a room on the top floor away from the elevator, which we always request to keep night noise to a minimum. Turns out our room location was a wise choice, because there are gaps under the room doors, so you can clearly hear other guests in the hallway at midnight speaking in normal tones. This was one of only two subpar aspects of our visit. The other was the lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom. That should be standard equipment. This hotel had some unique features. One whole wall was a closet, camouflaged by curtains. The other feature was the shape of the bathroom vanity - kind of a triangle. The bathroom was small-ish but, because of the unique vanity and the mirror, it felt larger and seemed better able to accomodate all our toiletries and miscellaneous. I loved the three-angle mirror for better viewing of hair and apparel. I also appreciated the full-size tub. I'm not a fan of showering and prefer soaking. Oh, and this hotel gets extra kudos because the staff was thoughtful enough to include a real nightlight in the bathroom. No blinding oneself if you have to use the facilities in the middle of the night. Typical Hampton amenities were provided in our king room - lots of pillows, above-average towels, reading lamps, blackout blinds, adequate counter space at the desk and coffee area, a microwave and mini-refridge, built-in drawers, decent wifi, plentiful electrical outlets, hair dryer, etc. Hubby loved the chaise lounge. I loved the comfy bed. One suggestion for hotel management. Please consider adding some organic (or at least non-GMO) snacks/drinks to your lobby pantry for guests who'd rather not eat poison. And maybe some non-GMO fresh fruit at the breakfast bar. You'd distinguish yourself from 99% of hotels in doing so. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when we're passing through Princeton.

Wost Hampton ever I felt like i was in a hotel 8. Paint chips everywhere . The room was dirty and out dated. Food was cold and the toaster was broken. Coffee maker in the room but no coffee or cups. When we check in at every other Hampton we are offered water, that didnt happen either. Lady at the front didnt seam to care just made excuses for eveything

Hampton no longer means quality I’ve stayed in nicer red roofs. Disappointing that the name Hampton no longer assures a quality hotel. Bedding is a mess. Popcorn ceilings, textured walls and 90s tile. Just Old but outside looks good so you don’t know it’s marginal until you pay and go to your room. Will try elsewhere next trip.
