The Masthead Resort

Fine, not fancy I wasn’t sure where to stay and chose Masthead a bit last minute based on location and water views. It was fine, and an amazing location but I was definitely disappointed in the service. Over the course of 5 nights my room was only cleaned once, and that was after I asked. The bathroom sink had a very slow, clogged drain and I informed the office attendant of it on my second day. No one ever came to fix it. Again, overall it was fine. But for the price you get very little.

My Favorite Vacation Place for 18 Years:) I love the Masthead for both the hotel itself and for the location which affords the pleasures of being out on the very long and picturesque deck for my morning tea, followed by a walk along the shore or out into the bay at low tide (an amazing experience!). Then a short bike ride to Herring Cove beach for the afternoon; stopping at the beautiful Breakwater at the foot of Commercial Street on the way back, often catching the sunset. In evening the hotel is a short bike ride or walk into town. The staff is friendly and helpful, the accommodations are comfortable (and often updated or improved) and the hotel grounds are quite beautiful.

My summer vacation in Ptown 2024 I love staying at the Masthead and having the view - and sound - of the water when I wake up. I’ve stayed there for 4 years now and plan to make it 5 years (and more!!)

Delightful! Such a quaint resort with a fabulous location and stunning views! Our party of four fell in love with this charming resort! Just a short, beautiful walk to town and a short walk to the PTown Inn, you can literally park your car and forget about it until the unfortunate time you have to leave this beautiful spot. We spent many afternoons on the back deck overlooking the water. Stunning! Chairs and umbrellas are lined up for guests to use. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our stay was perfect and we're already talking about returning next summer. Two things I must note - the furnishings could be updated but then the prices would probably increase...not a deal breaker for me because pricewise, I found this resort to be extremely reasonable for what it has to offer. Lastly, there is almost zero parking - we chose to park at the PTown Inn which was $35/day. It is just a short 10 minute walk - again, not an issue for us as I love to walk and the walk is gorgeous but may be an issue for others.
